Copper Scrappers Target Tesla Superchargers As Metal Prices Soar  | ZeroHedge

Here in California? Long as it's under a thousand bux? Feel free help yourself, shoplifting to your heart's content! But, I think you can do better, helping yourself, gutting copper from these whacked-out EV charging stations. Why invest in copper? When you could other hep-yo-sef, free? -

    (quote from above post)

This states perverted logic continues to amaze!

Things will only get much worse when there are absolutely no consequences for this type of behavior.

Do Californians even realize they are the ones who pay the cost of these unprosecuted crimes with higher prices, higher insurance, less service, higher taxes - not even considering the pain and heartbreak of the victims?

    Just amazing.

Full List of California Stores That Have Closed Due to Crime (newsweek.com)

"In late September 2023, Target announced the closure of some of its stores in Oakland and San Francisco to protect "team members and guest safety" amidst a rise in retail threats in these cities and other crimes."

"Taco Bell was the latest company to denounce the surge in crime in Oakland, suspending indoor dining in four of its stores—offering only a drive-thru service instead—and limiting indoor service to contactless payment only. In a statement to Newsweek earlier this month, the company—whose Oakland stores have recently been targeted by criminals—said that "providing a safe environment for team members and customers is the priority at Taco Bell restaurants.""

"Here is a list of all stores that have closed across California due to crime between summer 2022 and spring 2024.

      • 7-Eleven: In July 2022, the company advised several of its California locations in the Los Angeles area to change their operating hours to increase customer safety amidst a rash of crime.
      • Whole Foods: In May 2023, the supermarket chain announced the closure of its "flagship" branch in downtown San Francisco, which it had opened only 13 months before in March 2022.
      • Nordstrom: In the same month, Nordstrom announced the closure of both of its stores in downtown San Francisco, blaming the changing dynamics in the city market over the past few years.
      • Target: In September 2023, Target announced the closure of several of its stores in California—including in Oakland and San Francisco—over concerns of a rise in retail theft.
      • Starbucks and Subway: In November 2023, two Starbucks stores and a Subway restaurant located on Hegenberger Road and 98th Avenue closed their doors due to car break-ins targeting their customers.
      • Denny's: In January 2024, a Denny's, which had been on on Hegenberger Road in Oakland for 54 years, closed after being hit by a series of crimes.
      • In-N-Out Burger: In the same month, In-N-Out Burger announced its only Oakland store was shutting its doors, citing threat to the safety of its employees and its customers.
      • Macy's: In February 2024, Macy's announced the closure of one its most iconic locations, the store in Union Square, San Francisco, due to a rise in shoplifting.
      • Taco Bell: In March 2024, the company announced it has suspended indoor dining in four of its restaurants in Oakland, and limited it in a fifth store to customers making contactless payments."

The above list is not complete and doesn't mentioned many other stores that have closed do to crime such as Walgreens etc.

At least the charging stations HAVE copper.
We had a major cellular outage once upon a not-so-long time ago because copper-nappers took down a section or two of ariel fiber, which looks and feels like a section of copper - UNTIL you melt the sheathing away!

I would have paid much to see the expression on their faces..... :)

Unsold Teslas Pile-Up In Mall Parking-Lots, Big Discounts Likely | ZeroHedge

Greta Thundberg specials, stacking up! Wonder how they're keeping 'um charged?

My understanding, the way it's been structured by our whacked-out democrat friends, Elon Musk gets his subsidy, for every EV he produces, not for every EV he sells?

How much copper do you think could be gutted, from one of those Pete Buttigeig specials?

    meh.
    Click-bait.

If someone offered me a bone-stock, zero-option, zero mile Tesla right now for $10,000 I would give them cash on the spot - so very VERY few people with three-digit IQs think that these things are "piling up in mall parking lots."

    besides...
WHO the heck would go to a 'mall' and where in the WORLD would you find one with cars - ANY CARS in their parking lots?

Teslas have a real-world street price of >$1 USD.
If you put a hundred of either one of these in ANY parking lot, I'm thinking that SOMEBODY would stand in line to buy them for the 'right price.'

Those sound to be because of crime more serious than what Prop 47 addresses.
