The only service GPS provides is Nav data and time - and Keplarian data for the rest of the network.
They’re WAAAAAY up there in geosynchronous orbit and to date only one has claimed (out loud) that they have the ability to negate any of the birds.
That nation IS NOT us.
The GPS sats have an onboard stratum clock updated if necessary by the earth element.

Starlink is in LEO and there are about a bazillion of them so the birds themselves can be negated but not easily - unless they are hacked or zorched from the ground.
Starlink passes along ‘network time’ from GPS probably with a fall over to other GNSS systems like GLONASS and GALILEO and maybe Bei-Dou. There are others planned….

Both GPS and Starlink can be easily blocked locally but not broadly.

I mixed up MEO with Geo-synch.

GNSS merely means the collective Global Navigation Satellite Systems - although chipset manufacturers must have their fun.
I say let them!
"Global" is an interesting label since some of the aforementioned systems are somewhat more regional.
GALILEO has aspirations beyond merely telling where you are, and what time it is but the former are still freely available.

I recently purchased TWO GNSS dongles for digital HF tinkering.
They both cost less than the price of a McDonalds $12 dinner box - which, of course, costs closer to $24 than $12. (USD) and I was able to track birds from several constellations without tinkering with antennae - AND get a REALLY good time hack (I already knew where I was - so I didn't need position or velocities.)

Tom Gage and Jeff Amherst (YES...THAT Amherst!) took the King's shilling and ate the King's biscuit - and did the King's bidding.
The actual effectiveness of this 'bio attack' is questionable at best since the white devils had already brought smallpox over from the old country (the blankets were, after all, sourced from a local smallpox hospital.) However (comma!!!) Amherst's papers "suggested" intent!
Smallpox was already endemic in the area which is why the when we shook off the bonds that tied us to that same monarchy a little over a decade later - old George instituted perhaps the first vaccine mandate in the new world.

As far as the "shoot those who won't leave" (an interesting thought....) there are 18 million people hanging out in just three counties in SoCal.
Better rethink those magazine capacity regulations.
Ridding yourself of humans that you find to be inconvenient is somewhat complicated.
FOR EXAMPLE....
I'm not hearing (many) calls to rid the North American continent of the nonindigenous people from any river to either sea.
