Asking for friend, I’m good in electronics, not so much in anything else. Your thoughts or maybe experience, second coolant expansion tank to be on the safe side?

You can do this to buy you some time once you see the first or hear the first rattle and what have you I don't know that I would want to run around with a degas bottle. Not doing his job in this critical application It's meant to have pressure on it The cooling and contraction in the expansion of the coolant should not be enough to spread the block apart that's just some kind of foolishness as long as there's room for expansion and contraction should not be an issue which there is but yes and a pinch you could do this I don't know how long I would leave it like this because the next thing you're doing is a head gasket or an engine replacement and then when you have the new engine in place and all that you want it to run as expected and that is with some expected pressure in the coolant system it's engineered for that I don't think you can just readily turn it into a non-pressurized system without doing some changes like they do the big trucks there's some special nasty smelling coolant that you can run that is zero pressure antifreeze and so on You really need to bone up on that before you take the plunge You're cooling system is designed to have a certain amount of pressure to keep everything working properly in that system. You want to make darn certain you don't create an overheat condition
