I bought my Prius with the screen not working it always said “check the connection of the air conditioner” and the audio is off my new replacement just came in today and it didn’t work was just the same thing. I looked all over the place and still can’t find a video or nothing about it any suggestions on what the problem may be? If ik prius were this difficult I wouldn’t had gotten it

Also my mfd doesn’t show anything from the outside temp, the mile range, or if any of the arrows that show the battery is being charged

Hey so I had bought a new MFD for my 2005 Prius nd it still shows “check the connection of the air conditioner” and the audio still doesn’t work. I went back to check each connection and there is a white and red wire that doesn’t even have a connection to anything on the MFD or anywhere else behind it. Any suggestions on what to do the MFD I bought was tested in another Prius also and worked but in mines it just doesn’t. Need help I don’t wanna have to pay for an overpriced repair. The MFD also doesn’t show the fuel range or if the battery is being Charged or not

Where did that connector go in the Prius where you tested the newly acquired MFD?

Yes you did get a rolling computer and one of the most complex cars ever made.

First thought is the network is not getting to it. Second thought is someone had an aftermarket radio at one time.

There are a couple different multifunction displays and radio pairs available so determining which one you have may help.

    Here are a couple pdfs

The connector that I found literally didn’t hook up to the mfd or anything behind it was just hanging behind it as we speak

My 2005 Prius is still sayin “check the connection of the air conditioner” with the new MFD in the audio doesn’t work only thing work on the steering wheel is the defrosters, MAX ac button, and cruise control. I swapped out fuses that were blown and still nothing is there anything else to check for will the AMPLIFIER be the problem of this situation. My 12v Battery reads over 13v and I can’t find videos ab the MFD saying “check the connection of the air conditioner” if there’s anything else I can do plz lmk im trying everything I can rn

best thing to do would be to check for trouble codes with a prius aware scanner, and get the 12 volt load tested

Well, did you check the connections on the back of the MFD? If you recently swapped it, did you replace the original with an MFD that had an exact match part number? Did you connect ALL the wires on the back?

The warning you get is identical to the warning I see on screens when bench testing an MFD that is connected only using 12v power wires, with no I/O connections made up.

I bought the MFD from German audio tech it was supposedly a fixed MFD but when I plugged it into mines it didn’t work. Checked all connections they look good and nothing looks wrong wit them. But maybe it might be no signal?
