Thank you, while I know not "counterfeit" the part sold at O Reilly's failed in under one year for me. They did refund all my money, but it was a huge hassle to replace for the second time in a year.

Thank you. So nice to know, it allowed me to find a brand new OEM in the box on e-bay. Go forth armed with the proper info

Hope you get a genuine Toyota part. I have heard that ebay can have counterfeits.

I always get parts from the local brick & mortar Toyota dealer. Zero problems that way.

Is this genuine ? My inverter pump -prius 2007 failed.
It looks aisin is the OEM. I am talking about the $92 AISIN inverter pump being sold on Amazon. Link won't post here.
Any help is appreciated. I need to get this fixed tomorrow

There are two levels of question to consider:

    1. Are the pumps Aisin sells to Toyota, and the pumps Aisin sells in other channels with the Toyota logo ground off, identical in all respects? (Do they decide which manufactured pumps go where by flipping coins, or some other way?)

    2. Is an Amazon listing of an Aisin pump, in a nicely printed box with what look like Aisin markings, really going to be an Aisin pump at all?

I can't gaze in my crystal ball and give you either answer, but those are the questions.

With regard to the second question—the one about counterfeiting—it's tricky. Amazon and eBay are heavily used by counterfeiters, and of course they print packages and logos that look like the brands they are counterfeiting. That's how it works.

I've purchased a so called genuine part from a third party vendor on Amazon, only to later discover that it was counterfeit when compared to a known genuine one from a Toyota dealer.

Now, the only third party vendors I trust are real Toyota dealers.

Store in Amazon says "AISIN". You would think no counterfeiter would be able to operate so openly. The seller on it is Amazon. Product has got great reviews. If it wasa Ebay I wouldn't trust it.

... and yet they can and do.
Another thing that they can and do fake. All in a day's work for the counterfeiter.
