I need to stop learning things and putting ideas in my head.

In my quest to build one of the coolest Prius v's on the east coast, I'm curious if anyone has tried installing the headlight sprayers available on the Five trims into lower trims?

I imagine it'd be doable if I had an entire donor car, but junkyard websites seem to have awful SEO and to get all the parts separately would be stupidly expensive. Even just finding a grey-painted bumper with the holes for them is a stretch, and it's just getting worse with each passing year since there were only ~150,000 v's in the US to begin with.

I maybe in Pennsylvania they might get used once or twice a year or seems hardly worth the trouble Volvos and some of the basic cars they made had headlight wipers and from what I remember they never ever got turned on in most models I don't think most people even knew where the switch was for them they didn't come on with all the other wipers or the windshield wipers You had to flip a separate switch quite funny looking and generally never used.

Oh believe me, I never said they would be practical or useful I've already given this thing mildly tinted windows, 1.5" lift, auxiliary fog light and high beam, dashcams, Android Auto head unit, two under-seat subwoofers, and more mods planned, so this just feels like a natural progression. Plus it'd finally fill the last blank switch plate.

Things we’ve got on our ‘10 Touring (Canadian model), that NEVER get used:

    1. Headlight washers
    2. Fog lights
    3. Ionizer air thing
    4. ECO and SPORT modes
    5. Cargo net
    6. Touch-to-light display steering wheel buttons
    7. Satellite radio
    8. Rear wiper
    9. Distance to empty display
    10. MPG per segment display
    11. Default power/generating display

I’m sure there’s more, stuff I’ve completely forgot about.

Damn. I spent a lot of money getting my fog lights upgraded with Diode Dynamics ones (especially considering mine never came with any to begin with) so I'm quite eager to use them, and I also use the rear wiper and instant MPG display regularly...

And I also kinda miss the power/generating display since I upgraded to an Android Auto head unit, but that's also basically the only thing I lost from that upgraded.

Is "SPORT" exactly the same as "PWR" mode on gen 3/v? Only remaps the gas pedal?

I use that very occasionally if I'm pulled over on the side of the highway for a nap

I also use the filter function if I think I'm stuffier than usual, albeit I may never know if that's purely placebo or not.

Nevertheless, I get your point. I just think they're cool and such an oddball feature to have/get on a vehicle that's not particularly luxurious. Wouldn't even think of doing something like this if they weren't also a factory option.

See, I couldn't even remember the name; you're correct: it's PWR, lol.
Yeah, the fog lights I'm not using are stock, totally useless; can't even tell if they're on or off.

You and @Hammersmith are on the same page: he toiled for month$ getting auto-folding mirrors on his 5th gen. I don't think I've folded my mirrors (manually), in about a decade.

I use a 13.7V relay (above resting battery voltage, detecting “ON” voltage) to drive the fogs as 24x7 DRLs, with yellow Morimoto XB LED inserts. Nice cutoff, nice beam spread, nice conspicuity in daytime without the LED headlamps on.
