It drives me crazy to walk to the rear of my locked SE Prime and have to take the keyfob out of my pocket to unlock it. I know I can walk to the driver's door and hold the handle for 3 seconds, but I want it to unlock simply by my presence at the rear. My questions are ... Is that feature disabled for SEs? Is it simply missing some hardware if so, or is it a software feature. I'm trying to decide if I have a problem or if it's something I can modify. The last option is I have to accept it as it is.
It's missing hardware. The higher trims have a sensor near the hatch lock that detects the fob(also the passenger door). Yours doesn't have that. Short of adding the parts and wiring to make it all work, you're just going to have to live with it.
I'll put it on the bottom of the list and wait for higher trims to start showing up in the junkyard. A few years of inconvenience isn't a big deal.
