My daughter ran over a road gator on I-15 on her way back from Las Vegas Sunday with her 2010 Prius.

While it didn't get get wrapped up around the axel or stuck in the undercarriage, it ripped out the driver side fender well liner and most of the engine's undertray plastic bits on its way past.
After she pulled over, she had to rip out some of the pieces that were dragging so she could drive it the rest of the way home.

Now she needs a local shop that we can trust.

In the past (before I gave it to her in 2016), I'd check out what's needed in terms of parts and damage and then try to source the parts out of the local junk-yards before buying anything new. But, she's 500 miles south of me now and it's a tough drive.

I'm hoping to find a shop in her area that would do right by her and first check the local junk-yards for parts before buying anything new and has a reasonable shop rate. Mostly, they would need to check to see if there is any damage that would prevent her from driving it now or needed to be repaired before they could bolt-up the replacement parts.

I figure a dealer or a main-stream body shop would use all new parts and have a shop rate around $150 per hour.

If dealer of body-shop are the only options she has, she'll buy a '23 Elantra Hybrid instead of fixing the Prius. It only has 250k miles and the head gasket was replaced 100k miles ago, so it may have another 50k left before the battery takes a dump.

She works out near the Burbank Airport (she passes by the WB studios on her way to work) and lives near North Hollywood / Universal Studios.
It'd be great if there was a back-street garage that specializes in all-years of Prius with a solid reputation / recommendation that could be trusted to do the work.

Well those plastic pieces that you speak of aren't going to come from junk yards 10 plus years old all of its on the aftermarket pretty cheap too the plastics the black stuff. It all just pins n clips on but ya need correct clips n pins not alot of folk just have all this stuff sitting around . Do your due diligence on the Elantra it not what ya think .leave it with plastics off for the last 50K or so . Not gonna hurt s thing .

Many of those parts are readily available on Amazon. All pretty much held together by a few clips or some small 10mm bolts. I think if she has a regular mechanic she goes to for oil changes, you can get all those parts put on while that service is being done. Just buy the parts ahead of time so you can have them installed.

I use a shop that's a little farther south, in the city of Rosemead. They can definitely do all the stuff you're looking for. The name is Armstrong Auto Repair in Rosemead

    "Armstrong Auto Repair"?
Do you mean "Armstrong Auto Service"? This is listed in Rosemead (7444 Garvey Ave, Rosemead, CA 91770).

Yeah that's the place. Everyone there owns a hybrid from Toyota so they know these cars very well.

It's about 15 miles from her. So it should only take about two hours to get there (A/K/A: 15 LA miles).
She's going to call them tomorrow to see if they can look at it on Saturday and give it a (more or less) safety check and quote for repair.

I have no problems with body parts from eBay Motors or Amazon. But, when it comes to automotive electronics or electrical parts, I figure everything from Amazon is fake.

She drove for about 3 1/2 hours on her way home on Sunday and she doesn't smell, feel or hear anything unusual now, so it's probably safe enough to keep driving around in the LA metro area.

I replaced a fenderwell (plastic) from Amazon...it is fine. Otherwise, I have NONE of the underbody covers on my 2015 Prius for the entire 8 years (100k miles) I have been driving it. There have been zero problems from that. (much easier oil changes too). At 250k miles, I think I would just remove the damages stiff and not replace it (except the fenderwell.
