Far too early to call for the return of the sedan.

Camry hybrid sales only beat the Rav4 hybrid because it no longer has an ICE option. The Rav4 line up outsold the Camry by 45K. Without outside influence, annual Camry sales for 2025 will be around that of previous years, which have been 100k less than the Rav4. So far, it has seen a greater sales drop than the Rav4. The US Crown sedan dropped 70%. It appears those buyers have moved to the Signia. Also looks like Highlander buyers are opting for the bigger one.

Toyota Motor North America Reports June, Second Quarter 2025 U.S. Sales Results - Toyota USA Newsroom

Well the big winners in the 1st half of the 2025 calendar year are the people movers. The Toyota Sienna kept its 3rd spot and the Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid moved up to the number 4 spot. The Toyota Camry (now sold as only hybrid) retained it's number 1 spot. So now that we have the Camry being sold as only hybrid, we can ask the question, did it's sale suffer? Quick answer is no. The 1st half of 2024 included Camry sales that were V6 as well as I4 gas only models and the number went up slightly for 2025 even though there were 2 less selling days in 2025: 155,289 to 155,242 or .1%. Total 2025 Camry sales included a few left over gas only models and were 155,330.

For this report, the Lexus model designations for hybrids (HEV), plug-in hybrids (PHEV), fuel cell electric (FCEV) and battery electric (BEV) can look confusing so I put in a 3rd column for type. This allows you to filter and/or sort via that column. Yes I already know that some of us do not like the term hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) but just following Toyota's convention. Let me know if this useful or not.

Little confusing; by US sales, you mean Canada excluded? By "North America," you mean Canada and the US combined? I'd like to see the split.

Yeah the US site only gives out US sales from the Toyota Motor North America corporation. I'd love to be able to give out Canada numbers but Toyota Canada doesn't often break down sales nor do they offer a downloadable PDF like the US site does as @Tideland Prius can verify. Toyota Europe gives pretty detailed numbers for sales by models but again not by country. Here's as close to numbers as I can do:

I doubt 2025 Camry sales included any ICE only. The 2025 Camry came out in May 2024.

Haha ask Toyota how they got total Camry sales for the first half of 2025 of 155,330 versus 155,289 of what Toyota says are Camry Hybrid sales. I'm sure 11 ICE only somehow got through on dealer's lot for one reason or another, like weather, bankruptcy, rentals, etc.. They still sold 3 Venzas this June after being off the market since June of last year.
