I hope I do not fall into a loophole. Both my wife & I both get Social security
I felt forunate when my 2017 Prius was rammed & totaled by a 4Runner. I came away with no injuries and I think the 4Runner had a scratch on the bumper/ i saw glass fly from the passenger side & they saw my side curtain airbag.

Notice it REDUCES the taxes, not ELIMINATE them as promised. Another promise broken.

My soon to be former co-worker actually came out better that most people in a compact car would have.

Props to Yota for side impact beams and airbags.
I will not blame the G3's "funhouse mirrors" visibility for contributing to the accident - since it WAS a side impact.

My Prius was totalled the day after I retired. I now have a 2025 Camry XLE. All Camry are Hybrid now.

So I guess we should have voted for the people who NEITHER reduced nor eliminated the tax?

Trump is a proven liar, and he's been in politics long enough that he has a Clintonian shield around him now.
Frankly I'd rather have either one of them inside my tent pissing OUT than outside of it pissing IN.

Agreed AND he violated his oath of office the first day by "extending: the deadline for the TikTok ban that had already taken effect. IOW he is choosing to not uphold the laws of the US which should be an impeachable offense, IMHO.

    You're not wrong about that!

I hear that the ChiComms might have found a (*) "buyer"

My company prohibits its use on their devices and networks and common sense prevents ME from using it.

The average benefit is more like:
    upload_2025-7-5_10-55-13.png

    so.........
    $2000 a month x 12 months = $24,000

Want to guess what a person earning $24,000 a year is going to pay in taxes?

... don't forget $185 a month or $2,200 a year is deducted from your Social Security to pay for Medicare Part B before you receive your Social Security check - then you must also pay your Part D and Medicare Supplement or Medicare Advantage Plan Premium which can run anywhere from $100 to $300 a month. Most of which if you itemize will also reduce you tax liability.

For most of us Social Security tax liability depending on individual circumstances is not much of a tax liability at all - but every little bit does help

.... maybe much ado about nothing.

Only a broken promise if President Trump wrote the bill but he did not and it was changed many times in both the House and Senate to get enough votes to pass.

I'm sure any tax relief for our Seniors is going to be greatly appreciated! (I'm, still, angry the Democrats talked President Reagan into starting taxing Social Security in the first place...in 1984.)

    +1.

......... I think some have an axe to grind and it so perverts their perspective they scream bloody murder at anything associated with him ... maybe Trump Derangement Syndrome is real.

People saw our country was headed in a direction they didn't want and put President Trump in office.

I like that our borders are tightening up and the criminal element of immigrants are being rounded up, that our country is taking decisive steps to try and settle the Middle East tensions and resolve Trade Imbalances.
For Heaven's sake the University of Pennsylvania has even admitted that yes - they do know what a woman is and that a 6'1" person with a male anatomy who can grow a beard is not a woman and apologizing to the college women they put in this unfortunate situation!

A broken campaign promise just like he promised for overtime & tips but delivered on them. Still waiting for "all hell breaking loose" on Hamas because all US hostages were not released before Inauguration day.

People are saying other countries need to listen to Trump but they do not know if he is lying (again).

I don't think the debt is political as I've stated many times before - it is just a national disgrace- no matter who is in office.

Personally, I would suggest a solution and support some of the suggestions in this article concerning the debt.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/personalfinance/elon-musk-backs-warren-buffett-s-proposal-to-end-the-deficit-in-5-minutes-as-the-bold-idea-gains-steam-again/ar-AA1IhF10?ocid=winp2fptaskbar&cvid=cd7444fa19f245e1bc4972f1daa8525e&ei=19

Elon Musk Backs Warren Buffett's Brutal '5-Minute Deficit Fix' To Ban Congress From Reelection If They Blow the Budget: '100% This Is the Way'

"More than a decade ago, Warren Buffett said the national deficit could be solved in just five minutes. His plan? "You just pass a law that says that any time there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for reelection.""

""The Buffett clip is gaining renewed momentum among fiscal hawks and frustrated taxpayers alike. And while Buffett may have said it half in jest, the message still lands with a punch: if lawmakers were held personally accountable for the budget, the deficit might not be a recurring headline"

Both men see congressional accountability as key to fixing the deficit—and Musk's viral repost gave Buffett's decade-old solution a jolt of relevance in today's debate."

I know at least 2 Public servants -Tom Massey and Rand Paul who would vote for that amendment today -right now.

Remember when President Ronald Reagan ran for California governor - ridiculous, right - no one would ever vote for him he's a movie star not a politician, and to top it off he's a Republican - preposterous!

.... or... when President Trump announced he was considering running for President the first time- what a hoot no one will vote for him... or when he ran a second time... outlandish - he doesn't have a chance just write in President Biden or future President Harris the Republicans have lost for sure.

Who knows what is going to happen - people could wise up and realize there is a better way to live than being heads over heels in debt.

In our state the fastest growing party= Independent = vote for the best candidate - not the party!

You just continually posted that debt clock in discussions on your side was taking hasty, ill-thought out actions in the name of cutting spending, then are mum about the debt when that side is adding trillions to it.

Here we go again ... sigh!

The Debt is not Political - it is a national disgrace

Don't have a "side" - vote for the person I perceive as the best candidate - in our most recent gubernatorial election that meant voting for the Democratic Candidate and in some National elections it has meant voting for the Democratic Candidate- not a big deal just doing what I perceived as the right thing to do.

Voting for a "side" is nonsense and has no meaning or moral compass.
