Hi all! I am a newbie here and am looking for some guidance. Recently, a bicyclist hit my car and cracked the circled light portion. I took it to a repair shop and was quoted $406.07 for the part (Part #81531-47010) and roughly $500 for labor but I am unsure if this is the correct part. I don't completely trust the repairman and have been thinking about replacing the part myself. That being said, does anyone know exactly what part I should be looking for and if anyone has any guidance/tips/videos on how to replace this, I would very very very much appreciate it! Thank you everyone!
I did this repair myself. It is not that easy. Make sure you put the bumper on a cloth so that it doesn’t scratch. Victim of a hit and run—again | PriusChat
I see from a Canadian parts site, it’s over $700 (CDN). It’s a turn signal, and brake light? Somebody’s gotta bell this cat…
It's the reverse lamp assembly and that looks like the correct part number. Here's the online OEM parts store I found in on $283.19: https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyota~lens~body~rr~turn~81531-47010.htm It isn't a very difficult job to replace, just very cumbersome. Lots of plastic clips to pop-off and a few wiring connectors. @Gokhan stated; you need to lay down a couple of large beach towels or rug runner, so you don't mar the painted surfaces of that bumper cover - when your remove it and lay it down. Good Luck....
My favorite Toyota parts department in Denver sells that for $310.05 so you could check to see how much shipping would be to Cali. (I checked Amayama for it and it's out of stock....I'm seeing a lot of things out of stock at Amayama which is disappointing....I've gotten amazing deals there on OEM parts.)
