I just bought a 2024 Prius Prime xse and I would like to change the tire size, and rims of course. It has under 500 mi on it.. These are the factory stock tires and rims that come from Toyota with a new XSE car.

I would like to replace them with the rims and tires that are 17 in. that are used in the XE model.

    Is this possible?

Would it affect anything else on the car because of the difference in tire and rim sizes (Warranty, software, safety features, mileage estimates, etc?)

I would be willing to trade them for somebody's 17-in tires and rims.
    Thanks

The following is for my 2024 Prius Prime XSE

I would like to end up with 4ea 17in tires and rims on the car, and a spare tire (not necessarily the same as the other 4 tires - perhaps a "doughnut").

Any ideas where and how to do this? Dealer maybe or Discount tire?

I really want to get away from the stock 19" XSE stock tires/rims. It is the thing I like the least about my new 2024 Prius Prime XSE car !

    Any ideas?

    Googling this:

2023 toyota prius 17" rim part number

    I get:

    AI Overview
The part numbers for the 2023 Toyota Prius 17" alloy wheel are 42611-47651, 42611-47701, 95649, or TX015, according to Detroit Wheel and Tire. These are factory OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) part numbers for the 17" alloy wheel. The wheel has a 17" diameter, 6.5" width, 5 lug holes, and a 5-114.3 bolt pattern. The offset is 40.

Looking up the first two part numbers on Toyota USA parts site, respectively:

    Wheel, Disc

    Wheel, Disc

^ Both for "suggested retail price" of $549.06 USD apiece, It would be handy if the site would at least mention diameter, ah well. "Think" it's them.

Using the check dealers function, entering 90210, North Hollywood Toyota is asking a paltry $412.61 USD per rim:

    Wheel, Disc

So going through dealership, getting the stock 17" wheel covers as well, about 2 grand USD, out-the-door, for a set of 4.

I would think that if the XE uses the same disk, caliper bracket, and caliper you'd be good to go.

I think it's been thus for some time.

With 3rd gen there was some variations in suspension/steering if you had the larger (17"") variant. Not a physical impediment to switching, but I believe Toyota was ok with downsizing from 17" to 15" (which we do every fall), but less ok going from 15" stock wheel vehicle to 17". Lot's did it though, no big deal.

AFAIk, from gen4 onward, no such variations.

    Parts and Prices List:
Prices - 1. MSRP - 2. Typical discounted price - 3. Max discount during sales
    $549.06 - $379.60 - $284.70 - 42611-47651 or 42611-47701 - 17" alloy wheel - same wheels, just different suppliers - need 4
    $116.09 - $80.26 - $60.20 - 42602-47320 - 17" wheel cover - need 4
    $82.09 - $56.75 - $42.56 - 42607-0E090 - TPMS sensor - need 4
    $113.76 - $78.65 - $58.99 - 42611-21280 - spare wheel (compact) - need 1
    $132.65 - $91.71 - $68.78 - 09105-47020 - tool set - need 1
    $160(Toyo) or $200(Bridgestone) - 195/60-17 - tires (full size) - need 4
    $100 to $125 - 145/90-16 - tire (spare) - need 1

    So complete cost:
    Main Tires
    $284.70 + $60.20 + $42.56 + $180(avg) = $567.46 x 4 = $2269.84

    Spare Tire & Tools:
    $58.99 + $100 + $68.78 = $227.77

    Total
    $2269.84 + $227.77 + $100(mounting, balancing, other incidentals) = roughly $2600.
