Jack's life, although certainly tragic, does not even approach "falling off the cliff." There are lots of novels out there. You have mentioned a daughter, I might suggest the book Lucy in the Sky. Like so many of us, I had several friends and relatives that took those paths and only once did someone manage to "recover." But as, my friend says, no one really recovers. But, he is in his mid-30s, five years clean and just graduated in June magna cum laude. He says it is fate, but I don't know. kris
idk either, but some are more attracted than others. that seems obvious to me. not including addiction to pain meds and things like that, although psychological problems may be just as much a cause.
That looks a bit too dramatic to me LOL AND, since when have I ever gone off topic... A few years ago I had some serious medical problems and the nurses really had a problem with me as I would refuse painkillers until I was literally crying as those drugs were so good, it's easy to realize how folks innocently become addicted. Anyway, I ended up stopping all alcohol as well as other items when I was discharged, including my daily Pepsi -- oh -- the horror! Funny, alcohol consumption is down significantly in my cadre and younger ... At least that's what I see in the "fake" news LOL. kristen
There are those occasions. At times, I think A double shot toast of El Patron to Bob Wilson would be appropriate, but I resist.
