I just got a 2025 Prius Plug in XSE Premium (with advanced technology package, and every premium feature) about a week ago, and am trying to figure things out? So please forgive newbie questions.

I tried to use Cruise Control last night while driving on an LA freeway. I pushed the Cruise Control button, and got an error message, and it did not work.. (I forget what it said, something about look in the manual.)

Shouldn't it just work? Is there some kind of pre-condition for it?

Maybe you should look in the manual like it told you to.

Maybe you should try it more than just the one time and then if the error message comes up you should try committing the message to memory for later to help you resolve the issue.

Maybe you should also consider post subjects that clearly define your post.

But then this is just standard Cali driver brain I guess.

What speed where you going? There is a minimum else you get a beep trying to engage it.
Since you were on the freeway I'll assume where we above the minimum.
To the right of the CANCEL button there is a button that toggles between traditional curise and adaptive cruise control. Make sure it's flavor you want.

I didn't notice that. Adaptive means the car would slow down if the car in front of it slows down? Why might one not want that?
