    I found the existing cargo light to be pathetically small and inadequate, so I added my own:

    looks good. battery, or wired? i've never owned a car with adequate lighting

    It's just a dollar store stick-on light that uses 2 AAs.

    Speaking of lighting......another MIA, no more "Open/ Door/ Courtesy" lights .....at least on my LE .....

    yup, they continue to decontent, trying to push people to higher package prices, which include many things some don't want.

    I managed to wreck it yesterday, when I slammed the trunk shut on something. I found another one at Dollar Tree that was brighter and didn't have knob on it. Just a recessed push button.

    and then there's collusion, where all the mfg's agree to do the same thing so that the consumer has no other choice

    I liked the old business plan; giving the customer what they want.
    Damn Steve Jobs to hell for changing that.

    Did you try switching to an LED bulb. It made a drastic improvement in my previous 2014 Prius C

    This doesn't exist standard on the LTD either. It's an optional add on in Japan only.

    Personally I installed an LED strip from Alixepress around the border of my trunk that's powered by the stock light's connection.
