I have no problem speaking my mind or being blunt when required...and you do know this Doug. The only help you have, or will ever provide for me, is a hard reminder of just how much I relish being a US Citizen...living, working and contributing in and to our great Country. Tell Xi I said hi...and ask him to give us a heads up next time ya'll are going to send your latest bug our way.

We received the Pfizer covid shot this time at CVS. No serious reaction after the jab.

After I check with my pharmacy.. Dixie typically is calm until the end of November so I get my shots end of October and a week or so apart.

got the Pfizer shot last Monday and flu on the opposite shoulder. Great nurse; missed all my nerves and blood vessels. Neck and shoulder pain Tuesday; kinda expected and added 200 mg ibuprofen to the normal one a day vitamin I take in the morning. Pain and stiffness went away in about an hour. No other side effect, unless you count the third eye growing out of the back of my head.:eek:o_O:whistle: Just kidding on that last bit, because we KNOW RFK Jr is correct..........:(:mad::mad::rolleyes:

Pfizer will give that eye in the back of the head? Got to be a better spot than Jr has his, if anyone can show the value of (be) hind sight .... it would be Jr ...... you have wonder just what drugs he was using in his younger day

I think I'm on my 6th or 7th booster shot now, I've got so many govt tracking and mind control devices floating around in my system, I always look left and right a number of times, before I'm even game to get out of bed ..... probably explains the neck pains .....

If you go through one of those airport x-ray machines; you'll probably light-up like a Christmas tree:D:LOL::ROFLMAO:
When your unlucky enough to get that needle on top of a nerve ending - you can really feel that poker going in. Like I stated, they also missed all my blood vessels, no blood or bandaid needed. Went out and got a lottery ticket - unfortunately I ran out of luck there....:(

I'll be doing the same thing as I've done the past 50 years. Skipping the needle.

Maybe one case of a 2 day flu. No covid.

50,000 IU D3 + K2 daily. Blood level about 200 ng/ml. Primarily plant based diet. Added some creatine, leucine, and HMB lately to treat sarcopenia. Repeated Prolon Fasting Mimicking Diet for metabolic reset & nibbling away at overweight.

    81. Stair climbing and walking speed are two things I really notice. Walking is currently at about 24 minutes/mile pace. Not that long ago I remember 20 min/mile as comfortable, 18 as possible. Ahh to be 65 again...

The supplements are working. Leucine in particular is reported to improve muscle building response to exercise.

Just got some liquid vitamin D to put in an inhaler. Guy who runs VitaminDWiki reports that it improves his lung function. I could sure use the effect.

I also do stair climbing in a nearby building that conveniently contains an elevator. Walk up and ride down to reduce insults to knees.

My wife and I walk about 3 miles each nice day (about an hour) and play tennis. Not bad for a couple of elderlies (she is younger).

A blood glucose monitor that is implanted under skin seems to have contributed to stories about microchips in vaccines. Even though it's not the same thing.

Most microelectronics are now manufactured with unit sizes same as red blood cells (8 microns). Devices with useful complexity would be too large to pass through capillaries. They could do real harm if in bloodstream. Any implants elsewhere in body (anywhere, really) need to present surfaces that do not entice immune system into opposition.

Injectable tracking and mind control devices would present many technical challenges. Mind control in particular adds another because blood barrier in brain keeps a lot of stuff out of contact with brain cells. To our general benefit :)

Human blood system has 3 independent loops, with pregnant females having 4. It's fascinating, really.

Continuing OT, apartment buildings (by law) need elevators if taller than 7 floors here. This explains the abundance of 7-floor examples (including the one I live in).

More recent apartment buildings have been built taller. Benefits people too cheap to buy gym memberships. Has also benefited Otis elevators because China is now the world's largest market for 'lifts'.

you would think more stories would pay for elevators plus some. staying with 7 seems short sighted.

when my mother in law came to live with us, we moved upstairs. i noticed my leg strength improving after just a few weeks.
we were doing 20 minute miles until mrs b's it band got irritated. she's getting physical therapy, and i think we will get there again. for now, it's about 22 minutes.

Just a word or caution on vitamin-D; it isn't water soluble so you can over do it....
I try to do the same. That's one of the few things I miss from living in high density population area.

No I would not, that is Mĕiguó thinking :D. When 'sevens' dominated apartment construction (through about yr 2000) real estate developers were not flush with cash it seems. Apartments sold for much less per square meter than they do now. Building taller increases costs more than linearly. It penciled out correctly at that time.

New China ;) has different monetary constraints and consumer aspirations. When one sees Ferraris and Bentleys and similar (even in sleepy Kunming), one can be confident that a real estate developer family money was involved.

My father-in-law, now in his mid-90s was an electrical engineer under the 'cover' of Otis Elevator in So Cal. He draws a pension from both Otis & the army.
Most of the late 50s & early 60s he was out in the middle of the Pacific making very bright light appear, Miles High. Apparently one of their experiments blacked out the Hawaiian island of Kauai. His Otis Elevator days also took him out to Sandia base New Mexico pretty regularly.

"... out in the middle of the Pacific making very bright light appear"

What a thing that was, and more than we two know what you speak of.

So here's a question - Shall we close this COVID discussion as it has so much faded as a world-changing thing? Or continue to OT here?
