I took my prius in and the engine coil 1 was out. Replaced all coils and spark pulls. Mom took it home and stopped again while driving. It wont accelerate once driving. Any advice? Could it be one of the batteries?

A man gotta know their limitations. You did your best and now it's time to take it to a professional for a proper diagnosis and fix, or you could just keep throwing parts at it. Did you put in cheap counterfeit parts? Is the problem still there because you put in bad parts or was the original parts fine and that wasn't the problem to begin with? This is why you test first - before replacing random parts......
It's your money and your car; how soon do you need it running reliability?

    YMMV

I took it into a mechanic and paid $1400. I didn't do any of it. He will diagnose but just curious what's going on

Apparently NOT a very good mechanic; sorry that happened to you. Seems like he's just throwing parts at problems too and NOT doing any REAL testing - otherwise your problem would be fixed!!!! $1400 for plugs and coils seem excessive; was that a dealer that did the work???
What were the error codes he got? Did he check the fuel system pressure? What was it? Did he give you the old "defective" parts?
That's the difference between a good honest mechanic and a shyster that only wants what's in you wallet. Take it to a good honest mechanic that other people trust and has excellent ratings on other platforms - preferably a Prius specific specialist.
The more detailed and accurate the information you provide - the better we can help you. If you give us generic inaccurate observations - your going to get generic or wrong answers from us - We only have whatever you type here. We can't see, hear, or smell your problem. Sorry, that's how it is.....

Sounds like your mechanic is making excuses. Last time I checked, when you call a dealership - you usually get a service writer, receptionist, sales guy or maybe even a parts guy. None of those people wrench on cars and the actual technician is either working on cars or cleaning up the shop - What he's actually paid to do!
Reset what???? and who actually told him to do that? Again, to generic, not specific enough for us to weigh in on what to do next. "oil change and ect..." tells us NOTHING, was that suppose to alleviate your original issue? If so how?

Bottom line is that you wasted $1400 on a NON-FIX, because you don't know what the actual problem is and nobody is testing to isolate and determine where the problem actual is.........

Sorry, this thread isn't going anywhere without specific data. We can start with which car are we talking about. You other thread stated it was a 2017 Prius and your ID states it's a 2009 - two different generations with different quirks.
Are either of them plug-ins? Your posting in the plug-in forum.
    How many miles on them?
Are they mainly used for EV only operations and how often does the ICE kick in?
    How long between fuel-ups?

a coil going out is extremely unusual in an 8 year old toyota with 80k. i'd be concerned about the work performed.
can you describe what 'stopped again' and 'it went out' mean with detailed description of what the car experienced?

I was driving and hit a speed bump.hard and hit front bott9m a bit hard. Still worked tho. Later in evening was driving on highway and it wouldnt accelerate. I hit the gas and it woulsnt go faster so I pulled over on side of a busy highway.

Think check engine light went on. Then all lights went on. Later it wouodnt start once police came. I couldn't put it in neutral. Once it was towed my parents brought a trailer. The headlights wouldnt shut off. Then we tried jumping it and it ran. Seemed like gas wont work.

He fixed all the coils and spark plugs. Then when mom drove it home once charged it shut down on road again.

has anyone addressed the fuel problem?

is the engine coolant tank full?

something bad definitely happened with that speed bump, has anyone pulled off the aero cover and had a good look around? maybe wiring or something.

You need to ask those mechanics; 'What error codes are they getting' and 'Are any error codes repeating'
What do you mean by this? Were they all replaced? That answer should be on your invoice. As I stated earlier; we need exact specifics - 'Don't beat around the bush'.

In post #4, you claimed to have paid $1400 for repairs and you don't know what they are????????
Out here in the 'Peoples Republic of California' (this is for those conservatives in this group), consumers has rights! People aren't allowed to just take your money and not present you with a full accounting of what was done - otherwise how is warranty claims handled. They should also call you for repair authorization along with an estimated cost. You don't seem to have any of that information.

Write It Right: Documentation and authorization requirements for automotive repair dealers - Bureau of Automotive Repair

We can't see, smell, or hear what's going on - We're limited to what you have typed here in this forum. You just keep dribbling out information, and not the information we ask and need to help you out. For the reasons I've listed above - I'm out......
