I learned that it's also hands-free. You don't need to keep your hands on the wheel.
Just to keep from being bored, I was looking out for out of province license plates. I saw 2 B.C. plates, but no American ones, out at least a thousand.

But I did see one motorhome with Florida plates a little further down the road.

    Very untypical around here.

You would need to tell your insurance company you were driving it elsewhere. Otherwise, if they discovered it, your insurance would likely be invalidated.

I don't have a clue. I was commenting on the dearth of American license plates on the road here.

    It's October.
Why would somebody want to travel to some frozen uninhabitable wasteland this time of year?

People that are young and healthy enough to endure the weather have kids in school, while those who are older are getting ready to clog up the roads down here in the South.......

I do remember seeing an inch of snow on the ground one day in September going to my elementary school in southern Manitoba. My cousin tells me they now grow soybeans up there, so I don't think that happens anymore.

I saw a blizzard hit this area on August 4. I wasn't sure if it was the last snowstorm of the year, or the first.

, being close to the mountains, I believe your weather in Alberta is more unpredictable than that further East. My brother near Red Deer has lost his tomato plants on occasion, but I still subscribe to the notion that during the winter, at least, the Peg is the coldest major city on earth.

Parts of southern Canada are further south than many northern parts of the US. Of course, you know that from your geography classes in school.

Unless you are in the mountains or extreme northern Canada I doubt you will encounter more than a possible dusting of snow this time of year.

My qualifications are I was raised in Toronto Canada.

My feet used to get cold and hurt when I was little, but as I became an adult, they stayed warm, no matter the cold. I could wear rubber boots and socks all winter long.

i don't like heat either. and i don't like the dark. when i was younger, i participated in all the winter sports, but that slowly changed over the last 20 years. now i follow the sun.
if i had to live somewhere permanently, it would have to be like san diego, or some temperate place in europe

Every place on earth gets the same amount of sunlight per year. It's 50% day and 50% night.

On an annual basis, yes, Per month, it can vary greatly.

    Actually?
Most of the gets very little to no sunlight at all, being as it's covered by all that water.

i don't mind 50/50, but some time spent in skandanavia taught me to fear darkness.

and i didn't really care for it being light for almost 24 hours either

my perfect day is sunrise around 5am, and sunset around 9pm

I've seen snow storms any time is the year, and I'm much farther south.

Last year I had to drive through a foot of snow mid June through South Park. Several cars were off the road, which reminds me of why I hate driving: Most people don't have a clue of how to drive and they put us all in danger.
