Transaxle Failure

    Yes, definitely there is difference in loudness when turning. It is louder when turning right (left wheel is spinning faster).

    sounds more like a cvj. just because a boot isn't leaking doesn't mean it can't have gone bad.

    Agree with Bisco, that is an outer notched CV joint if it is a series of clunks the changes with speed, any of the inner ones would spin faster, but it would not put any additional load on them .....
