In one respect, the 'lessor of two evils' to the anti-efficiency crowd now that usable EVs are available.

it has brought in some new buyers due to styling, and lost some devoted fans for the same reason.
they are having a nice year compared to recent sales, but crushing it is an overstatement.
rav4 and camry are crushing it

Exactly. It seemed like it was crushing it when it initially released but now my local dealers have had the same ones on their lot since April/May. Rav4 and Camrys though, good luck finding them. 98% of them are sold before they even hit the dealer's lots here.

I couldn't find any '26 Prius HEVs. Plenty of PHEVs.

Are you aware of anything sorted by color? I've looked but found nothing. Just curious where my Reservoir Blue fits in, popularity wise. I think near the bottom, with Grey, White and Black at the top. I can't see paying $450 for a white car though, no matter how "pearlescent" it is.

I just read an article where blue is the worst color when it comes to depreciation. 9% difference in depreciation after 5 years between blue and white which is the best.

In 5 years hopefully I'm not fully depreciated. :)

No, I just googled that link. When we bought our ‘10, the lot was awash in Prius. We just stumbled on our silver Touring model, and in hindsight love the the colour, no extra charge, and a perfect match for the rims.

    we’re topic drifting though.

Blizzard Pearl (metallic white) "was" plagued by paint peeling issues. There's also a non-metallic white, but I believe it was just fleet sails, short supply.

I'm sorry now I got off topic on colors, with @mikefocke making me feel "blue". :)

I think the article or title of this thread is about all Toyota hybrids, not just Prii. Now that the Prius isn't their only hybrid, anyone buying a Sienna, Camry or many other Toyota vehicles is getting a hybrid, or at least it's an option that many are going for.

The Corolla is possibly the only new car I'd ever buy new now that the Nissan Versa stick-shift is no longer available. If I got one, I'd be hard pressed not to get the hybrid. Unless I had enough money for the GR Corolla. (Yes, I must be bi-polar, at least with cars.)

I have a friend who got a brand new Sienna but didn't know it was a hybrid until after he brought it home.

Not that I know of. But I had another friend who had just gotten a gen 1 Prius and immediately called me to see if I could help him figure out why the engine kept dying. He didn't think to step on the accelerator every time the engine turned off. So I told him to try it. And man! Did he freak out when the car took off!

we heard about someone who bought a hybrid for the mpg's but knew nothing about how it worked.
the first time she stopped on the way home from the dealer the engine stopped and freaked her out.
she managed to step on the gas and get going, turned around, drove back to the dealer and traded it in on a straight gasser.

My first segment, Fort Worth to Shreveport, I only got 37 MPG and considered taking it back. But subsequent segments mapped out the ‘knee in the curve’ at 68 mph and I consistently got 52 MPG thereafter.
