3M Protective Film. I bought a roll a couple years ago for just this and use a spray coating instead.

The biggest problem I see is parking with the headlights facing into the sun. I've seen cars parked in one direction all the time and the paint fades faster on the sunny side. Gen 2's also have a problem with the plastic chrome coating inside the headlight deteriorating. I haven't seen any specific coating to protect, but one of the ceramic waxes might help. Griots is highly rated and does well on YouTube comparison tests.

I wait in vain, for the glass headlight revival. :(

The best solution is new headlight assemblies every 5 years or when they start getting hazy.

The best new headlight add on is a clear high quality uv blocking ppf film, combined with some good led low beams. The ppf should be professionally installed and top of the line. This kind of uv blocking film has been tested as true uv blocking where all the liquids and sprays fail uv testing and don't last more than a year.

The liquids are good at smoothing out sanding marks created by traditional restoration techniques, which do work for a year. I would never use one of the restoration kits on a new headlight.

I know this is a Gen3 forum, but with the new skinny, recessed led setup on the Gen5, is this problem now a thing of the past?

It takes about five years to get hazy, so you can let us know.
