That image post may satisfy its poster. I do hope so, because not much else was accomplished.

But my weakness is to be drawn in. Medical use of leeches began at or before 1500 BCE. It was ooga booga then, for lack of understanding of medical things (which I am sad to say seems to persist). In modern medicine, exsanguination by leeches remains of value in some treatments. Anti-coagulants (hirundin etc.) derived from leeches have wider value in medicine. They and their products merit more than cartoons as distraction.
