idk if they do or not. but the more renewables that come on line, the more their business erodes.
why would you trust them to do the right thing? or we can disagree on what the right thing is i suppose

It turns on the science. The science of believing and man-made global warming? Or the science of regular global warming. There's honest people on both sides that don't have an extra grind with the other

Same here - & the great thing is that when a car's efficiency increases, CO2 decreases along with it. So whether one is anti or Pro CO2 - efficiency still gets the job done.

Extended warranty for GM ICE cars is 100,000 miles too.
I would think that the traction battery NORMAL warranty would be 100K, as opposed to the 60,000 powertrain warranty in ICE cars, which is a pretty good deal when you consider that the average replacement cost for the traction battery is much higher if not also much easier to do.

Exact numbers with the Bolt are hard to pin down since they screwed the pooch in the first gen, prompting a recall.

Some companies DO diversify .... & actually prosper quite well after being held accountable for their bad history. A certain aspirin company comes to mind.

They laid the blame on LG and 100K mile warranty is the battery pack warranty, by federal mandate. Most of those 100K mile power train ICE warranties are non-transferable and dealer specific (marketing/sales tool) to counter KIA/Hyundai similar power train warranty; also non-transferable, but repairs can be made at any Kia/Hyundai dealership. You can buy an extended warranty on any car. The insurance companies are losing their shirts on any GM products with the L87 engine installed. Those engines could usually make it past it's 60K mile warranty.
When I bought my gen1 Acura Integra, told the sales guy, 'Honda has a good reputation, but this car is an unknown'. They threw in a free 10 year 100K mile power train warranty to sweeten the deal. They tried to hide that in the financing contract, so I walked out.

It looks like the parts warranty is 3 years or 100K miles, when installed by a GM tech. I believe new GM cars carry the industry standard 5 year; 60k miles power train warranty. You may see them extend out warranties, in an effort to move unsold inventory.

there are still ongoing battery replacement problems. it's amazing difficult it has been for gm/lg to get a handle on the battery software issues.
they keep rewriting code and replacing batteries, with only marginal success.

I think I can help clear up some of your misconceptions about warranties.
I can't speak for the Korean blends but I currently own 4 GMCs and three of the last 4 before that were GMCs.
Just to make things easy for Toyota fanboys, their factory warranties and those from GM are nearly indistinguishable from each other except that Toyota's OEM extended warranties are a little longer (125 to 100) and their dealers - at least in the SE are scummier.
The regular, OEM warranty for each is 3/36 bumper-to-bumper and 5/60 for powertrain.
Again - we're talking about FACTORY warranties - and not the wild wild west that is the non-OEM warranty market - sometimes sold by..........dealerships themselves.
OEM warranties - including extended warranties are transferrable in the US.
See: The Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act of 1975 the next time a dealership tries the old "WE have to do the maintenance" scam.

I've always maintained that it is foolish to buy extended warranties.
If your car cannot hold together for 125,000 miles then you need to buy different cars.....which is why I bought my last Toyota in 1989 and also why my last 7 cars were GMCs, and each easily outlasted the extended warranty period.

BEV manufacturers indeed are required to cover their batteries for 8 years and 100,000 miles for factory defects but not from "normal" battery degradation - meaning 'Normal" as defined by the manufacturer. Common thresholds are 70% to 75% capacity of the original range under 'normal' operating conditions.
Spontaneous combustions under 100k are probably always covered.

I'm fairly agnostic over the feds stepping in in this way.
It probably makes BEVs more expensive than they need to be - and it CERTAINLY causes some of the 'off the cliff' decline in used BEV street values.
    Think about it.
It's MUCH MUCH easier to replace a battery in a BEV than it is to replace an ICE in a gasser - and yet the COST of this replacement is usually more - sometimes MUCH more.
As the technology matures, these gaps will probably close and then open again in the otha direction - but EVangelists are going to have to WAIT for that maturation.

    Until then?
Fake it till you make it, I guess....... ;)

Is Hyundai Warranty transferable to the second owner?
Yes, many warranties within the Hyundai suite of warranties are transferable to a second owner with certain conditions. The 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty1 changes to a five-year/60,000-mile warranty1 whose clock starts on the original purchase date. Second owners are eligible for the remainder of many of the car's original warranty specifications, so they are a great option for savvy buyers.
From: Hyundai Warranty For The Second Owner: How Does It Work?

I've seen CPO used car warranty with language that states 7 years or 100K miles from date of original sale/service, NOT the date the second owner buys it. Some of the finer prints states that the work MUST be done there, NOT at another dealership.
When my niece asked me to help her buy a car, that was at the top of her list. She moved away from Kia/Hyundai after I pointed out the fine print; and refocused on Toyota and Honda. She reasoned that even though they weren't as reliable she wouldn't be on the hook for repairs.:(:rolleyes:o_O:whistle:

Most people think Lia/Hyundai are not known for reliability. Toyota and honda are the 2 most reliable brands. Did someone in your family previously have a bad Toyota experience? my experience dates back to a used 1969 Corolla. I have not had a reliability issue with ANY of my Toyotas.
