Au Contraire. It does everything faster, the ramp is much shorter, but it does (on a hybrid) tax your HV battery more if you have it set on a higher setting. Sorry you don't understand the rather simple function of this item.

Can you explain the simple function of the item like I'm a twelve-year-old (but kind of a geeky twelve-year-old able to read a Prius wiring diagram and understand the valid ranges of VPA1 and VPA2)?

    Yes, and....
YOU can "do everything faster'. YOU can make "the ramp shorter".
It's your right foot. Work it.(y)

I've worked a long time in aviation autopilot certification. You've heard of the company.

In terms of ms , how faster could this $dealio$ possibly send 'Full Throttle' from the pedal linear position sensor to the ECM?

You'd never be able to measure it in terms of actual performance. (n)

Find a useful mod to spend you money on.

Yeah everyone be like bill and just buy and use the car.

Never make it your own with little details to your liking or make it perform better.

Always buy OEM and never ever trust or buy from other companies that sell a product that fits your car.

Use your foot he says.....not your head.

Kiddos, buy all that extra chrome for your model car. "Make it your own !!"
But "Chrome don't get ya Home." ( Biker talk !)

But seriously,,, You will never see any benefit with this expensive doo-dad plugged into the Go Pedal Position Sensor.
Full Go Pedal = Full available engine power. Anything in between is up to your right foot.

Buy yourself some Chrome Pedal Covers. (y) That you can see and be 'proud' of !! The girls will love them!

I hate chrome and do not add stuff like that on my prius but do know that the curve can be more fine tuned and controlled than just leaving it to the normal settings it comes with from factory.

Yawn...plain ol vanilla is basic and boring.

You realize that 'curve' is something your right foot does all the time?

    0 - 100%.
    It's a position sensor.
Your right foot has complete control of the curve....

But the Hog needs more Chrome. So what'r ya gonna do?
    Buy more Gee Gaas. (y)
Or take a winter vacation to the tropics. Your call.

    Az,
Tell us more about how your water injection system is going !!! :ROFLMAO:
What do you put in the glass jar when it's below freezing? (n)

That question has been asked many different times over the last few years. He has never responded to the question, so I would be very surprised if he responds to you.

Well, there's such a thing as simplifying it too much. :)

People are kind of used to the idea that the go pedal controls the throttle, because for decades it was just a mechanical linkage that opened the throttle. So full go pedal = full throttle, for years. (Full available engine power, now that's a little murkier. The engine RPM was usually locked to the road by whatever gear you were in, and I guess you could say full throttle gave you full 'available' engine power at that RPM, which might not be much.)

In a Prius, there are two more levels of indirection. Full Go Pedal tells the HV control ECU that you want full available motive force from the car.

The HV control ECU decides how much of that motive force to give you from the battery, and how much to give you from the engine. It tells the ECM how much engine power it has decided on.

Then the ECM decides how wide to open the throttle.

All of those decisions happen downstream of any device inserted between the go pedal and the HV control ECU.

Anything for $5 in sponsorship payments.
    Look at his signature.
That's a lot of $5 deals, that are mostly chrome do-dads or useless 'mods' with no demonstrable improvements.
Easy money if you can get it!!

    I agree, (y),
which is why I said "full available power" and not WOT (wide open throttle).

If you build it, (and chrome plate it,) they will come. :ROFLMAO:
And if you get a Buck-and-a-half from a silly link in your long 'signature', all the better !!

Well, you said "full available engine power" (italics mine), which is what it could mean in a non-hybrid.

In a Prius, it means "full available motive force", and how much engine power to use for that will be decided by the HV control ECU.

Only after that first decision, the ECM makes the second decision, how much throttle to use for the amount of engine power the HV control ECU decided on.

Now Im pretty sure I answered that same old question long ago.

With all my doo-daads as he would say.

I have a lot of projects in my life.

Like the upgraded 2 row radiator...

I find it so funny that guys like you two are always in threads that are about things, that do not work for you.

You are both so grumpy and negative and refuse to try or learn something new.

    Hey!!!! Here is an idea!!!!!

Order one...try it yourself and actually experience the product yourself.

Then if it actually does NOTHING!!!
You can run your lips and smack talk.
    You can actually return things!!!!

But....if you find it actually it does something...You will learn something and have something worth talking about.

What, you mean the question in #5 ? Well, maybe you could give someone else a chance. No need to carry the world on your shoulders.

The question could have been addressed to Iron Man Prius, who wrote

So maybe Iron Man Prius can give a rather simple explanation.

So there's no confusion, the question again was:

Can you explain the simple function of the item like I'm a twelve-year-old (but kind of a geeky twelve-year-old able to read a Prius wiring diagram and understand the valid ranges of VPA1 and VPA2)?

    "2 row radiator"?
If your Prius is overheating and you think all it needs is an upgraded radiator,,,, I hate to break it to you, but, your prius has a major problem.
    Even in Az....

Maybe you're right. I shouldn't be skeptical of people shilling stuff from weird, but funny, small parts suppliers.

Therefore, I shall buy one of every doo-dads in your extensive link section.
I'm hoping all the amazing claims piggyback their effects and I'll have a +70 mpg prius. Just like yours???
I'll be sure to use your name when, and if, I have to 'return things'. "He promised me it would work..."....

I used to be one of the 'guys' just trying to protect prius owners from wasting their money. Not anymore. :p
