To each their own, but Pedal Commander/Monster...on a Prius?

You hear that engineers at Shift Power and other companies, this guy claims he knows more than you and your products are figments of our imagination. :ROFLMAO:

Why don't you just look up throttle pedal devices like Shift Power and others and read THEIR official scientific research on their products? The burden would be on you to do so, since you're making a claim they don't work.

Nice reversal of burden there. They're the ones selling a product and making claims about what it does.

I have read some of what's available on their websites, but haven't had much success in the past finding "scientific research" there; you might be able to direct us to some that I missed.

But really, I was asking a shorter and simpler question. Because you had written

it seemed clear that you were familiar enough yourself with the simple function of the item that you could explain that function simply and clearly in your own words. Note that isn't even asking you to show any proof of effectiveness or degree of improvement, just asking nothing more than that you describe how it is purported to work. A simple explanation, the kind you would give an audience that maybe already knows how the existing pedal sensor works and what the ranges of VPA1 and VPA2 are, but not a lot more than that.

Is that something you could do?

Are you sure you don't mean THEIR MARKETING GIBBERISH?
Their company is there to sell their products. Are we supposed to just believe the claims, no matter how BO GUS?

Look, the pedal position sensor puts out 0 to 100% Go Pedal Position, correct? (y)

What can these chrome plated DooDads do to that 'Position' data that your right foot can't?(n)
    ELI5.
Have you bought one of these DooDads? Can you possibly tell and measure ANY DIFFERENCE?

I could, yes. But I would get another disingenuous answer in return. Why don't you disprove it yourself and like Azusa said, buy one...use it, reverse engineer it...whatever you like and tell us your findings. I've done all my experiments with them and quite like all the results. It is using the total available traction power combo between ICE and hybrid battery as someone previously mentioned. In race mode, it's really taxing the HV battery as a matter of fact.

I ran one in a Prius V for nearly 4 years, and countless customers and friends have also ran them in their vehicles for nearly as long with thousands of logged miles and data sets from them. This feels like what the debate would have been like between aeronautical engineers during WW2 and 1/2 of them try to describe how much faster and better a turbine jet engine would be in future warfare...all you guys are the propellor proponents saying jets will never be popular. :ROFLMAO: Seriously, go back to Hypermiling and scrap booking.;)

    Yes, And?

The scale is, once again, 0 -100%
How many ways are there to slam in 100%?
How many ways are there to hold position to maintain the speed you want?
Can you summarize the 'data sets'? I forget what the promise is with these DooDads.

You mentioned 'Science' earlier. Can you please scientifically explain how this dang deal work?

btw, I don't hypermile. I punch it all the time in my EV. It doesn't waste power in an EV.
Traction control to the rescue of my tires!

I accel hard in my Prius all the time, but hate the buzzing engine... So maybe not at that Ol' 100% position.
But up there! I could get my torque app to give me the data, right?

Scrap booking?? (n) I guess it's a hobby. Some buy useless DooDads to throw at their car for a hobby.

If I thought I could have a rational conversation with you I might post a few things but the rambling and trolling is just boring. Buy one, and tell ME what you notice. It's 100% worth your $200 to install on a Prius.

There's a certain category of product whose boosters always respond to "how shall I decide if this is worth buying?" with "there's no possible way other than you buying it."

... though it may be that recognizing that pattern offers another possible way ...
