Hi everyone, I have a 2014 Prius. About a year ago, I replaced the Brake Master Cylinder and the Brake Booster Pump assembly using used parts from a salvage yard. After the installation, the system worked, but the pump motor was significantly louder than before (I suspect it was installed without the rubber isolation grommets). It also cycled very frequently—running after every 1 or 2 brake applications. A few months later, I started getting intermittent warning lights that would clear after restarting the car. Scanning showed code U0073. Recently, the lights would flash for a second and disappear without needing a restart. Yesterday, the situation got worse. I am now getting the "dreaded" codes: C1252, C1253, and C1256. My question is: Do I need to replace the entire system again? The repair is so expensive that I'm considering selling the car as-is or even scrapping it. Is there any hope that a failing 12V auxiliary battery could cause these specific codes? I’ve heard it’s a possibility, but I’m worried that the used pump I installed has simply failed. Any professional advice would be appreciated.
The 12 volt thing I think is slightly possible put in a 12V see what cha got . You don't have to use the Prius battery you could use another universal battery or something just for the test so you don'thave to be all in on another small Prius battery. These models are not thee ones .
Why would you buy used brake parts???? It's likely they are bad also. Those things are something you should take a risk with. Because you endanger innocent people when they fail. You likely got the incorrect parts. You need to get those parts based on your VIN number.
The ABS VIN matches perfectly, but the pump only matches partially (just the first part of the VIN), because the guy who sold it to me said it doesn't matter
