Hehehe. The 2015 revision of the 2GR-FE should be fine in this regard.

Agree. Your V6 is much better than the 1AR, 2AR and 2AZs used in many Toyota conventional 4 cylinders before 2015.

    To the OP:

Don't do it. Especially if it's a 2010. I bought one in 2016 with 145k miles (for exactly 8k, let that sink in) and regretted it every single day. It's dead in my driveway and will be sold to Copart in the next week.

I also bought my 2010 in 2016 (with about 110k), and it's been a peach.

I'd love to give you odds on both outcomes, but I'm not one to claim I have enough of a statistical sample to do so.

Yeah, I know I've had particularly bad luck with this car. To add insult to injury, I sold off a perfectly good '97 Honda Accord with low miles to get it (it's a long story). Dumbest thing I've ever done car-wise.

The op bought a Sienna minivan based on warnings a couple of posts up.

The odds are bad on a high mile gen3. Carfax and 10k oil changes are worthless with this model. A few of us who have been on this forum for decades and bought various Prii new have benefitted from initial reliability and gas savings of $10k or more. This combined with early fluid changes helped a few of us prevent early onset of well known issues.

Still many of us have seen expensive issues present after standard warranties expired. However some benefitted from now expired free extended warranties from Toyota.

When a potential used Prius buyer is smart enough to ask BEFORE they buy, many of us will advise against all North American purchased gen3s due to the high risk of unexpected expenses, stranding and or significant loss of investment.

To some its not good enough to say "my" car has been great when we know a value oriented used car buyer takes such statements as endorsements and the used Prius sellers will only emphasize Toyota "reliability" and high hybrid mpg.
