Just a quick post to see if anyone else has purchased and installed the Fel-Pro VS50823R valve cover gasket kit on their gen 3?

I read the reviews online and somewhere on youtube that the spark plug seals are too big on the fel-pro gasket kit and did not fit and others say they froze them and they fit and others say they worked good, so I am looking for real world experience on here as some of those amazon reviews could be user error or not.

I am thinking of installing a fel-pro kit on my gen 3 since it's half the price of the mahle and I get it next day vs a week later on the latter. I personally have used fel-pro gaskets before and never had an issue like I read with these gen 3 kits. I bought and installed a Mahle valve cover gasket on my wifes Honda and it appeared to be larger than the OEM as there was a large amount sticking out which ultimately just ended up needing to be stretched out a bit and fit perfect after.

Freeze them, to make them fit? What happens when the engine heats up? They no longer fit?
You have to "trim" gaskets to make them fit?

Those are not red flags to you????

    One size fits all!

Well I am also not sure I am following you either on the freeze no longer fitting and trimming comment BUT my question was had anyone used that fel pro valve cover gasket kit before and mention what I read online.

Either way, I purchased this kit and had no issues installing it nor any fitment problems with the spark plug seals. The gasket and seals fit like OEM so not sure if those people with issues were installing them on a different model. One thing I did find weird though was, the kit included 13 rubber grommets and recall reading online that its one for each of the valve cover bolts BUT the valve cover did NOT come with grommets nor do any of the videos I have seen of other doing valve cover replacements on Gen 3’s. I was a bit confused at first and thought maybe whoever replaced this one before had forgot to install them BUT when installing them and attempting to torque them to 8ft lbs, the grommet would warp and squish beyonds its usefulness, so I ended up taking them off and just going without them which is how it was originally. Perhaps this kit fits other cars too that use them hence why they were included.
