Toyota seems to be having a tough time selling their current pure-electric model, current inventory near us:

Not sure that things aren't slowing down in the big prices world.

I happened to be in Walmart today and noticed the stacks of TVs sitting in the aisles with not a single customer to be seen and not a single one going out the door and this 5 days before the super bowl. I'll watch on my 3 year old 84" that is probably available now for 1/3 what I paid for it.

I also frequent a Facebook like site called Nextdoor which is locality oriented. Every third posting is a tale of woe and begging for $ or things. Every third posting is asking for the cheapest whatever.

The wonderful thing about that site is no politics or religion just like this one. Separate groups for that.

I stand corrected, you can now get the specs on Toyota's website as well as build one (2026 Toyota C-HR | Toyota.com). Not the first time Toyota put specs on the site before their Pressroom site.
There are a few differences between original press release and Toyota's site, along with some other notables:

    • EPA Range: 287 mile (462 km) for the SE trim with 18" wheels, EPA Range for XSE trim with 20" wheels: 273 miles (439 km). Press release said up to 290 miles (467 km) Manufacturer estimated Range. nothing to really argue about but yes the bZ XLE AWD gets 288 EPA miles range.
    • MPGe EPA rating. SE: 117, XSE: 112
    • Press release said around 5 seconds for 0 - 60 mph, Toyota Site: 4.9 seconds for 0 - 60 mph
    • Cargo space is 25.9 cu. ft. behind the rear seats, 59.5 cu. ft. behind front seats (rear seats folded). This is actually more than the bZ at 56.9 cu. ft. So you have to ask how did they do that? Um rear leg room is a full 3 inches (79 mm) shorter than the bZ. Only the Toyota Corolla Cross has less rear leg room.
    • Still sits at 8.0 inches (203 mm) of ground clearance which is about the same as Toyota's other SUVs.
    • With the SE trim sitting at 4,322 lb curb weight it is only 44 lbs lighter than the bZ XLE AWD.
    • No Towing but you can get an Activity mount as an accessory.

volume is a useless measurement. all mfg's should be required to supply length, width and height of the hatch area, rear seats up and down, front seats all the way back

Actually they already do most of that for the C-HR and bZ. It's under Dimensions. My preference, however, is load height which almost never appears unless I do it myself.

I wonder how many are the pre-refresh ones. Compared to the refresh, it’s a much harder sell.

How about we start with them all using the same edition of the standard for marketing, preferably the one the one required for the EPA size category?

Then we move to using something like the trunk volume measurement; how many of standard boxes can be fitted inside. Europe uses such for SUVs and estates.

I’m not interested in how many projectiles can be piled above the height of the rear seats

Oh no, total height is very important, since people everyday buy rather large boxed items and shove them into the back of their vehicle. Even plain bulky items, it would be a common sight to see people load them in from the garage sale they just visited.

It isn't the number they report. The boxes are known volumes. Put as many as you can into the cargo area with squeezing them. Then add up that volume. What the US uses for SUVs and wagons now is the measurements you want. These allow wiggle room that leads to unusable space being counted. Like the indentations on the side panels and dead space behind the rear seat from the seat's recline angle.

It is why the numbers for trunks are under reported, and the ones for SUVs over reported.

Can a dishwasher fit is all I want? In a Rav4h, the answer is yes.
