I will check with Toyota Italia if there is any recommendation beyond the specs reported on the (holy) book...

Toyota USA provides free scheduled maintenance for 2 years or 25,000 miles, whichever come first, when you get a new Toyota

    Not in Italy, unfortunately.

    Generally speaking, nothing is free.

I'm confused; you paid them to put the wrong oil into your car??
How does that work? When I pay someone to do something, I expect professionalism and for them to do it by the BOOK - NOT by whatever they feel like doing. You might as well have a child do it......... Is Rome full of children????

They are an official toyota dealer. They say they have directives to use such oil grade....

No disrespect intended; I would ask them to produce those directives with the Toyota EU headquarters letter head. Not a blind franchise letter head; designed to save the franchise dealership money......
I've got to tip my hat too that franchise dealership, for making it a win for themselves. They improperly maintain your car (your paying for that), then they repair it and blame the OEM for a crappy engineered car. Not great long term strategy, because they will count on repeat Toyota brand recognition; but smart Italians may not agree.
Remind me how many affordable, reliable Italian cars are out there? They've got the high end market, where rich people would put up with that kind of garbage - but as a "regular Joe", I'd walk or run away - They are looking at you like a wallet to be fleeced; not a person.
Get the work done someplace else. Your car will appreciate that by lasting a long uneventful, reliable life.

    Just my two cents.....
