Okay, I have the car off the ground but seem to have run out of PB Blaster. Going to get some tomorrow, What I did today was 1. Removed the coils 2. Removed the spark plugs - They were only a couple of months old when the engine blew up 3. Removed fuel injectors - Only a couple o9f months old when the engine blew up 4. Removed both headlight assemblies 5. Removed the inverter coolant pump Tried to removed the inverter but the security screw stripped out. Going to use a grinder tomorrow or Thursday. I don't think I need it.
I probably would use new ones if/when installing it into a car I own. But... if the old gaskets look really good and I were just storing the part for now, I might secure the gaskets to the assembly in case I sell it to someone, the buyer might want them...
Oh, I misunderstood. I thought you were wondering weather of not to store used gaskets that look good. (I personally would not buy anything unless the part was stated to soon go into a vehicle I own). In my case I would salvage rims for winter tires or pothole triage. (Unless necessary to get rid of the vehicle). And hang front and rear bumper cover from the garage ceiling if they are in good shape. But, with that kind of thinking one is soon storing doors, abs modules, etc...
It would be nice if I knew the right seals for what I do need to use it. I actually think I will want to use it. Pulled the whole thing, the cat and resonator, off a few weeks ago but has been pretty bad weather since.
