Disappointments in my 2025 Prius Plug-in XSE Premium

Paint chemistries are much more resilient - non-photochemically reactive than they were in the 70s. In 1975 I noted my Landlord 's 72 glossy metallic silver MB 350 SL had partly turned to flat gray. Quite disturbing.

Rather than severely limit your perspective buyers when it finally comes time to sell your vehicle, modernly you can buy the (included) cheapest color & have the car wrapped in a color that's as wild you like - knowing you can strip that plastic coating & and have paint underneath that is brand new. Resale! That's what I'm talkin'.

One of our neighbors had a wrapped truck (advertising) for maybe 10 years. He got around to peeling it off, took AGES, and for some he had to give up, hand over to a bodyshop, the paint was lifting.

 

Interesting. There's plenty of YouTube videos on how to do it, or more correctly put - get it right the first time. That said, owners may think burnt orange metallic Pearl looks cool, but when it comes time to sell, that color underneath will attract a lot more buyers



That's one of my favorite colors. But other folks? Not so much, I'm sure.

 

I'm one of those people who don't really like this color. Although I wouldn't call it ugly. To each his own, as they say.

Yes! Mine had a mirror and radio, probably us spec.
It was a beast @ $1,600. New.
I had to decommission her when the bottom fell out due to rust

 

Now a headlamp or a touchscreen'll cost you that, and it's not ALL inflation.

 

It makes me want to trade before the warranty is up, but that’s not cheap either,
But at least you have a new car under warranty again
