Saw a news story that went into creating an e-mail alias. But did not really understand what I gain? Or how it prevents spam. Tired of spam? Here’s a simple way to prevent it | KTLA
I get very little junk mail, not sure why. I did have to create an irs id pin because my car dealer got hacked and they got all my personal information
I've got two; one of them is actually trashmail??.???. I get a lot of questions when I give them that email address and I tell them to "forget-about-it".. If it's fake, you'll never get a reply on your confirmation code for login. The point is that's a throw-away address; so if there's too much spam/junk getting through; you just abandon it. You give your REAL email address to friend n family members; but that doesn't preclude them from getting hacked and a ransom email sent to you. YMMV
