I'm new here so I may not be posting in the right place, so forgive me if that is the case. I recently replaced the hybrid battery in my 2010 Prius (probably in 2023 or 24). The car had about 170,000 miles on it and was otherwise in good shape, so I sprung for the $4000 cost. Now the rear axle rusted through and a wheel broke off making it un-driveable. I also just bought 2 new tires for it in Jan/Feb 2026. How do I recoup some of the money I paid for these things? I'm sure there is a market for them. I'm in Pittsburgh, PA. Thanks.

You could go to a junk yard and purchase a rear axel assembly.
Someone has done that in the past year or so.... I can't seem to remember who it is though, sorry.

I'm sure someone will chime in and let you know so you can contact him and see what's involved.

$4000 hv battery is really expensive. The actual parts price now is running about $1600. So a used one would be way less than that

    Thats a low ball comment....

average cost for a new oem battery is floating around $3,400-3,600 NOT $1,600

factor in any tariffs and the price will stay up or go higher since gas is going up.
