hello, i am back fixing this dam car again, long story short my heater core busted, tore it all down put it back and it doesnt want to ready. everything else works except ready and the obd. i am suspecting it has something to do with this unplugged connector. i have no idea where it goes. thanks.
I think there are very few of us that have ever removed the dash. Its possible that connector is for a module you don't have. Given it is a three wire connector with a given shape, I might spend a couple of hours reviewing the wiring diagram's for that connector and then find where it has a single w/black, a blue and a black wire. Short of that, you might want to diagnose the obd2 (dlc3) problem which needs repair anyway and could lead to the issue. Power and ground and the CAN bus would be my focus.
^ This. The "Location and Routing" section of the wiring diagram is where you find pictures of the physical wire harness layout in the car and which connectors come off the wire harness where, so by finding the connectors that are shown near where yours is, you can cut down that "couple of hours" by a lot. If you're using the online diagram, you can just click on a connector to go right to the circuit information about it with the wire colors and so on. You can find more about doing that in the "Electrical Wiring Diagram" section of this page: Toyota Service Information and Where To Find It | PriusChat
it is a 3 wire connector, not 2. and it appears it is a ground. i just want to know where it goes and what its for. blue, black, white black
DLC3 is in post 5. A v wagon has a dlc3 ground wire routing that is different from a hatchback. You pay $30 for two days TIS access TIS TIS I would still look for the connector and then find one that has the three wires. Others have found disconnected wires in the past doing this work. But your connector might not be it if it was an option your car does not have.
ok so the dlc is good, has good ground and power, and 60ohms across can. now what, car does not want to ready.
