I think Im getting lucky with this engine, so far its just needed a good cleaning, I drove to SC just now, about 300 miles. Smooth as butter. Checked fluids before I left, I will check again tomorrow. Before I left the catch has started to get some oil residue on the dipstick so its doing its job. Ive heard others say 70mph speeds really seem to increase the oil collection. Ill check oil levels before I leave and return. Coolant is still where I left it after changing the thermostat (checked before trip started). The tank its on now has a bottle of techron in it, the highway miles should really help get that in there for whats its worth. Im playing the slow game on oil consumption. Previous owner is just now responding to my messages. Maybe I'll get some hints about what major service this thing has had in the past. I'd really like to know whether the transmission was service recently. Would a bottle of seafoam in the oil hurt on the trip back? I'll be changing the oil once I get home. Just to help it out in the long run?

Here's a screenshot from Google and Facebook. They really need a proper website! highly reviewed on google repair shop. Their Facebook post which is what caught my attention indicated being very familiar with Prius / CT200H. $1200 headgasket starting price for parts, labor, machine shop, and fluids. Definitely worth checking out in NC.

A good price at $1200 starting for a head gasket. Looks like they do a lot of Hondas.

Seems similar to the Tampa Hybrids business model.
