Drove by a 1970's VW Van that was in pristine condition....almost felt like I'd time-warped back to the 70's....groovy, man!!

Also walked by a very old Toyota in the parking lot at work...had to stop and get a closer look since it was an unusual tan/peach color. 1992 Corolla, also, in excellent shape....kudos to whoever has kept her going for 34 years!! (We don't have rust here, in Colorado, because we don't salt the roads, we use other stuff....so glad about that.)

Montana doubles down on car destructive formulas for icy roads. They mix a lot of gravel w/the salt. That way once the ice melts trucks kick up all sorts of rocks & I swear, there's got to be at least one out of 20 drivers around here w/cracked windshields.
Maybe that should have gone in the "just need to vent" thread

1977 Volkswagen Scirocco in decent condition. One of the better examples of Giugiaro's "Folded Paper" design suite. Been quite a while since I saw one prowling around.

Ford Lightning in the Costco parking lot.
Another Grenadier. My brain cries Land Rover everytime I see one.
A 1950s panel truck, likely a Chevy, and a Model A before it got cold. Both is good condition.

Drove by an old Datsun pickup....brought back some memories, for sure! (And still a huge example of what NOT to do if you don't want to destroy your company....hey, let's just re-name all of the beloved Datsun's "Nissan" and nobody will care.....WRONG)

I watched an interesting YouTube video about it...let me see if I can find it....

Those were my favorite take on the concept of a "Crossover." More car than SUV in that mix.

I thought the Crosstour was a great looking model when it came out. there was a small Volvo I liked as well.

It was an Accord hatchback with bigger wheels. All most ended up with my father's. I liked it, and I'm wishing for the better aero of a kammback these days.

Subaru's configuration likely has a smaller penalty than Honda's FWD based one. The Outback's CVT is the big difference, making it more efficient than any Crosstour. The sedan aero and pavement only tuning of the Legacy gets 5mpg more than the Outback though.

While I would make use of the cylinder deactivation for all it is worth, my father opted for the V6 Crosstour. That's a bigger rating penalty than the AWD.
