    Which simply isn't true.
There was an agreement in place that prevented Iran from making weapons grade material. From the inspection system in place, it was working. Trump and the GOP didn't like it because it gave Obama a win. So they ended the agreement.

Actually - "This simply isn't true", simply isn't true.
Iran never honored nor intended to honor the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) - as early as 2015. After the 2016 money payments to Iran and during early JCPOA compliance, Iran was constrained and not advancing toward weapons-grade fuel. After the U.S. exit and sanctions, it accelerated enrichment dramatically, accumulating near-weapons-grade material and shortening breakout timelines substantially—bringing it closer to nuclear weapons potential than before or during the deal. This is corroborated by repeated IAEA reports. The program's status remains a major international concern.
Obama administration's notable transfer to Iran was $1.7 billion in 2016 (often mischaracterized as "millions" or a ransom) not only became enrichment to the mullahs but their program for Nuke's as well.
Equally stupid JCPOA didn't address Iran's advancing ballistic missiles. Ie a flawed plan.

Can you clarify the timing of the "U.S. exit and sanctions" you have in mind here?

why - so you can determine blame? Totally obfuscates the main point which is that the terrorist Muslim radicals have no honor when they give their word - on what they will or will not do. Face the facts, they want nukes for one purpose and one purpose only. To cleanse the world of USA and israel, the evil Satan

Maybe just so readers of the thread can observe who's working how hard to obfuscate which points.

Steve Whitkov on behalf of USA offered up to Iran - what was essentially framed as"free nuclear fuel forever" (or for a decade-plus) for peaceful purposes, with the U.S. or international partners supplying it so Iran wouldn't need its own enrichment infrastructure. Iran rejected it, insisting on its "right to enrich" domestically, which U.S.A. (or anyone with a brain are/were able to recall all of Irans murderous atrocities) interpreted as evidence of weapons ambitions rather than civilian needs.
With murderous proxies - who can't read those tarot cards. But sure, go ahead and let them do whatever they want to do. Anything for $2 gas, right?

    Tarot cards?

Do you believe in ghost or the woman with the crystal ball?

How often do you visit the palm reader?

The king breaks promises to the American people and even to his loyal supporters.

He broke the JCPOA a b written signed contact.

How can you trust him or his subjects?

It’s something to live through, watching people ignore what 47 did and does they don’t want to hear. Not made up stuff, actual factual important things, like tearing up the hard won Iran agreement with the other countries.

Still not understanding the Muslim mindset, right? Clinton thought he had an iron-clad agreement with Yasser Arafat's PLO. At least Yasser Arafat (back then) had a shread of honesty in that he didn't pretend to agree to Oslo ccord terms. Or perhaps he wasn't strategic enough to do dishonesty - the way modern Muslim terrorists do, namely, pretend to make agreements that gives them more time to re-arm. And where would they rearm from? That's right, Iran. Modernly? Muslim terrorists play on the jackass-ery of the "Neville Chamberlain" appeasement mentality of our modern days. Now THAT's a true cult.
Maybe try reading history. Muslim terrorists existed since time immortal. That's why Marines had to beat them back during the era of the Barbary Coast.

Why the **** would Iran stick to the JCPOA after the US pulled out and reinstated sanctions on them? They agreed to not enrich above energy grade to unfreeze their funds, and to end the sanctions. Inspections and reports said they were upholding their side of the agreement when Trump reneged on it.

The missile issue is just distraction. A missile without a nuclear warhead isn't much of a threat. The deal did not exclude reaching agreements on other matters.

The right to enrich is a major tenant of the Non-Proliferation Treaty, which Iran is a party to. There are legitimate uses besides weapons for uranium enriched up 60%.

What reassurances did Iran get that Trump or the US wouldn't just renege on the free fuel after it had happened with the first deal? How much fuel would be sent? What priority would be at Iran for US production? Would the US also send highly enriched uranium for use in medicine and other civilian uses?

Iran's counter to the free fuel was limiting enrichment to levels lower than they agreed to in the JCPOA. Trump's response was to bomb them.

If it's any consolation, I see both sides, but Iran's history is a chip, combined with ballistic missiles, that only Neville Chamberlain mentality can ignore. There's only one reason Iran would place their nuke production deep deep underground. Iran has had decades of playing the hide the peanut in the show game.

Iran has had 8 years to enrich nuclear materials beyond that agreed to under the JCPOA on account of the 2018 withdrawal.

How can any deal made by a nepo baby, a golf course developer and a hillbilly get the better deal?

The current war has given Iran a compelling reason to get a nuclear bomb as a deterrent to future action against them by the US and Israel.

How are we better off than the pre-2018 period?

$4.60 at all the places that were $4.39 the other day. We're only 5 days past the last delivery of crude from the Persian Gulf, still drawing down stored inventory...

I'm thinking this will be the last year fuel is sold in whole-gallon units in the USA.

How little you know of finances and wealth.

Those who flaunt it are likely to be highly leveraged.

    No envy at all.

The so called master deal making king forgets one caveat of negotiations.

The party that is desperate for a deal is not dealing from a position of strength.

Apparently, the master of the art of the the deal is as delusional as the king of the United States.

More like the f'art of the steal.
