gen5 prius phev reliability/TCO

    If you have good insurance, it is totaled and you get a pay out.

    That's if the leak is in the battery. In your scenario of a pierced condenser, then the repair cost is about the same as such damage would cost for any car. Likely would just need more refrigerant cause of the loops in the pack.

    And as pointed out, this is a gen5 Prius PHV and some other plug ins issue. Toyota has made such leaks serviceable in the new Rav4 and newer plug ins using refrigerant for battery cooling.

    this is exactly the kind of thing I am afraid of. it's also hard enough to find good quality mechanics for an "ordinary" vehicle like my current 6cyl, it makes me nervous to think about more complex vehicles.

    maybe the flintstones had it right to begin with. wanna join me in a cave?

    Better not skimp on the collision and comprehensive insurance coverages then...:(o_O:censored::cry::whistle:

    Who would've thought that saving money on gas would be so expensive in the long run.o_O:LOL::ROFLMAO::p:cool:

    You think these potential issues aren't possible with any new car.
    The Toyota power hybrid pick ups had engine and transmission issues.
