Nice! I had mine done at a dealer for just about twice the cost, plus they broke the side clips and told me they were already broken, which was a lie. Was the windshield HUD compatible?
Yes the windshield is HUD compatible. See the markings etched on the glass near the end of what I posted. The only thing that I notice is that the display is bigger and slightly at an angle but I’ve gotten used to the change. The glass tech told me that the HUD works because of how the film (that’s sandwiched between the 2 pieces of glass) is positioned. He said that the film has a “grain” but I don’t understand that. All I know is that it works.
Oh, I guess I got a very good deal then at VitroPlus in Canada earlier this month. It was $1,138.26 Canadian, including the camera calibration and a rental for half a day. Didn't use my insurance as the $500 deductible and the count for a claim wasn't worth it for just saving 638.
