Has anyone noticed inaccurate charge time estimates displayed on the screen compared to the actual charge time? One level 2 charging, my vehicle shows 4 hours and 10 minutes from 0% to 100% consistently. When charging is complete, actual charge time is 3 hours and 15 minutes. This is on different public and home level 2 chargers. I am glad the vehicle is charging faster than the estimated charge time, but I wonder if others see this difference. I may contact Toyota brand engagement if others also see this inaccuracy too for Toyota to improve the accuracy. I doubt they will do an update to improve the accuracy, but they should at least be reminded of the information discrepancy.
My 2024 RAV4 Prime also has some significant differences between estimated and actual charge times, and those differences are not always consistent. But it hasn't seemed important enough to track down why.
It's like your fuel gauge; it isn't going to tell you your empty, when your actually empty - there's a buffer built-in.
While mine normally overestimates the charging time, there have been a few occasions when it underestimated the time.
In my experience that's pretty rare; but I've seen it happen at public chargers; where someone hooks up next to you and the charger can't maintain it's previous rate of charge. In that instance; if you open your door - a new estimated charge completion time will display. Don't know if that works with the Toyota app; since I declined to pay for it; too buggy and not worth it IMHO.
I expect that for our usual ski hill, where some outlets have a shared capacity limit, but it has happened elsewhere too where there was no similar known issue. I do wonder if battery temperature charge rate restrictions have contributed to this, but it hasn't happened enough for me to decipher a pattern. I also declined to pay for the subscription when the free trial ended. I prefer to keep subscriptions of that sort to a bare minimum, and that didn't make the cut.
