A solid $1,000 savings the first full year, yes: Cheap grid power fills the gap - sized to not sell my solar electrons to the grid. Cost avoidance is tax avoidance - my taxable income is no longer used to pay that $1,000 expense. Age frozen appraisal value - property taxes not touched by the value of my house with paid off, solar. Around town, I’m in the $0.01/mile cost.
