    wish they would bring over a PHEV Epower

    Hmm, a clutch. I predict less fuel economy and reliability than Toyota's system.

    Toyotas prime has clutch and a dog clutch and they seem to survive
    Good catch, old Epower models were literally a generator without any mechanical system or clutch

    Honda/Mitsubishi use a clutch to connect the ICE to wheels for high speed situations, and a lot of other parallel hybrids like Toyota's Hybrid/i-Force MAX and Hyundai's offerings use a clutch to connect the ICE/motor to a traditional automatic transmission. But unless I'm missing something here, e-Power (3rd gen or otherwise) doesn't use a clutch. It's just a straight series hybrid with no ability to connect the ICE to the wheels.
