Dealers are starting to refuse certain vehicles as trade ins.

    Due to certain vehicles with certain high cost problematic repairs and obsolete unobtainable repair parts, dealers are increasingly refusing to take certain vehicles as trade ins.

    Geez, if the massive rip-off of customers can't continue all those stealerships have assured their own bankruptcy! Kind of makes me happy just thinking about how they won't be able to scam people anymore because they went broke!

    New Car Dealerships will take your old car. They keep "a few" to sell on lot, but most go to auction.

    True and not true.

    Dealers will take anything in trade.

    They are, however, cognizant of the market and the resale value of a junker needing repair or unavailable parts.

    A dealer won't take a vehicle that has been gutted of emissions controls. They can be fined and even subjected to protection if they resold it.

    The private individual might be the only buyer, and he or she might also be subject to civil or criminal penalties.

    Otherwise, they price the trade accordingly.

    It has been my experience that dealers will take anything for a trade, because they will only give you a token amount of money to make the deal look good. Part of the how much can you pay a month game. I can sell you a car for $100 a month for the rest of your life. That's a great deal if your 80 years old; but don't be surprise if it becomes a paperweight tomorrow. By the way; you still owe me $100 a month because your still breathing......:(:eek::rolleyes::cry::censored::whistle:

    A dealership not allowing their victims to get cheated on their trade-ins????
    -really?

    I turn this frown upside down by not allowing them to buy MY car.
    Well....I mean they actually CAN buy it I suppose.
    If they throw enough cash my way I'll sell them my HOUSE too.....but when I go to a dealership to buy a car, I'm JUST buying a car.
