I have a gen 2 prius that had 240k mi one month and 137k the next. It now has 181k. The codes I pulled with techstream (which I am just learning to use) are as follows:

    B1412, C2315, U0073, U0121, C1242, C1377, C1378, U0073, U0123, U0124, U0126,U0293, B2284

It lists the following as "past codes":
    B1650, B1660,B1806,B1816,B1790,B1794

I've spent (wasted?) a lot of time with this car, so I just want to understand what is going wrong. If anyone can identify it, I would appreciate the understanding. Thank you so much and Stay Well Always in Peace!

Read the codes with the real scanner and get real codes these are Toyota generated codes I'd have to go look up everyone manually not willing to do that if you read them with a thing that you plug into the cars OBD2 port rather than looking at the car screen you'll get real codes they'redifferent looking like p0420 .. when you start posting real codes everybody will recognize them because everybody uses the same kinds of scanners and gets the same kinds of codes there's few for hard read em off MFD types let's see if they around .

Usually with that many codes you have either wiring harness damage or something is unlplugged. As in a failure of what allows all the different systems to communicate with each other. Have you tried to clear the codes yet and see how many were legacy and which were current?

I'm not sure what you mean by saying these are not real codes, Tom. You can't get more real than Techstream.

Tom is right, though you will have to look up the codes in the repair manual – once you have noted and cleared them, as Camper said in his post above.

The Uxxxx codes are indicative of lost communications on the CAN bus. So broken wires and faulty connections on circuits connecting to ECUs are certainly in consideration here. The Uxxxx codes should indicate which ECUs are involved.
