Not sure if this is the right place to post this question. My 2006 prius display seems to be completely off on most days. It turns ON on a cold morning. Is there any shop in North Jersey that can fix this? If so, how much would it cost?

    Thank you

If you have a friend or family member with basic repair skills and a decent soldering iron you can save a huge amount of money doing this one yourself. It just a simple 16v 100µF capacitor that needs to be upgraded to a 16v 220µF capacitor.

There's plenty of youtube videos about how to replace the capacitor on your combination meter. Its a relatively easy job...

In the meantime, one technique that might help get it to power up is when you get in the car start it in ACC mode (without foot on the brake) then put your seatbelt on. Then foot on the brake and start car the rest of the way. That often works... The other thing I noticed works is kind of like how your tooth stops hurting the day before your dentist appointment. As in the problem always seems to go away the day before you're about to get it fixed. I postponed fixing mine for years because of this.
