Is it 'ok' to be a republican, NRA member, Christian who eats LOTS of meat and own a Prius?

You'll find some liberal self-righteousness here on occasion; hardly unexpected among a group of hybrid car owners! But I have to say that the most hate and derision I've seen in FHOP has not been from the liberal side.

Thanks guys! I laughed long and hard on this one!

Much appreciate your feedback - sense of humor and candor.

Rush is after Glenn Beck and before Schnitt - so I'm really just stuck with him - but I do enjoy his program.

As for the Jap comment - i'm sure I didn't really hurt anyones feelings .. and if I did.. grow a spine dammit.
But no seriously.. If I hurt your feelings.. i'm very... very sorry - from the bottom of my heart... truly.... Really.

As for the republican Party in 08' - Dear god - Just stop spending my tax dollars on useless crap! Please!

I'm getting a new NRA sticker, Geocaching Sticker and I'd rather be burning down a rain forest sticker on the way to paste onto my new hatchback! :)

    With love,

    BigMahma

    *shrug*

It's not my fault if some want to burry their heads in the sand. If you don't think the future looks bleak then you're not looking at the correct data (fortunately enough people are creating a path to a better future). I may sound biased but bias is a part of our conceptual frameworks, which in turn, are rooted in our level of knowledge, past experiences, puposes, and vested interests. Since I have no real vested interests that just leaves the other stuff which I've talked about often enough in here. My purpose you ask? To built an equitable future for the next and subsequent generations without harming the natural systems we are dependant on.

Gosh, I sound like such an evil tyrant. :D

I think its okay to be all of those things, the Prius is a great car no matter what. What I have found is that the Prius is like opening a book for the first time. You think what you know just can't ever change but then it does and the Prius becomes just the beginning of all kinds of easy lifestyle changes aimed at making the world a better place to live without sacrificing everyday pleasures. There are many who support the Prius for many reasons, they are all correct...

Actually - I wear a shirt that says "redefeat communism - 2008" with a photo of bilary on it.

My other favorite shirt is a shirt that says that has arabic writing on it that says "Infidel"

and underneath the arabic writing it says... (infidel) -

Yes - I wear these in public.

And I have no problem with whales - they taste great!

This is true - i've begun to look for other ways to save energy that don't impeed on my comfort and living style.

My wife recycles - I try my best not to.. I guess I'm gonna start throwing my empties into that blue box instead of the trash can.. *sighs* ... It's another 10 feet into the garage... think of all the energy i'm wasting walking that extra 20 feet!

    *laughs*

Having owned my Prius for around a month now, I have never had a Prius owner wave to me despite the abundance of them in the Boston/Cambridge area.

Now I know for sure you have issues...I've eaten whale (blubber)...and it is salty and oily...I thought it tasted terrible and I have a pretty adaptable palate.

Make the effort to walk the extra 20ft and you --one day-- might actually be able to see your feet again!

You don't, by chance, own a recliner with built in cupholders/a place for the TV remote?

So, Big Mahma is so fat that:
--there are smaller fat people orbiting her
    --she sells shade
--her favorite restaurant has a sign inside the front door: occupancy 247...or Big Mahma
--when she goes to dinner, they give her an estimate first
--every chair she sits in *becomes* a recliner
--she thinks that 'recycling' means asking someone at dinner: "are you done with that?"
--If you yell, "hey Kool Aid!!" she'll come crashing through the wall
--I tried to get on her good side, but my bus pass expired

    ---------

BTW, this has nothing to do with your being conservative...and everything to do with your 'Jap' comment and thoughts on recycling. Nothing to do with politics, and everything to do with YOU.

While you may have been cut from the same cloth as some conservatives, they had to use a few more yards in your case.

Prius is not a litmus test for environmentalists nor is there a requirement that you subscribe to an agenda. Bear in mind, though, that an NRA bumper sticker might look incongruous.

Frankly, I don't care how or why anyone ends up driving a Prius; I celebrate the fact that the car does its environmental thing regardless of the politics of the driver.

I'm another one of those "weirdos" that doesn't blame the President for all the ills of the world. By living in Ohio, I'm sure others see me as a mouth-breathing idiot anyway...

Believe it or not there are some members of our society that defy stereotypes. Although right of center, I loathe SUV's and wasteful lifestyles; especially those that live such lifestyles and tell me I have to stop consuming what little I do.

I'm waiting for true frugality to become fashionable... :)

Reminds me of the Robin Williams joke: "George Bush says he's a 'compassionate conservative'. I'm not sure what that is, but it sort of sounds like a Volvo with a gun rack."
