Need help locating a set of headlights..

I've seen non-HID ones on ebay for like $50/piece.

 

Be careful. Those might not be DOT approved. I believe you can get a ticket.

 

sorry that this doesn't answer your question but could you tell me how u got them tinted and what wax you use?? your car looks really nice

 

Yes, the headlights changed from 05 to 06. Not sure if the fittings changed, but the '05 dosent have the LED looking bar.

 

How do you remove the headlights?

 

This is my first post here but its a topic i'm interested in too. My last car was a WRX STi and the subaru folks have gotten pretty good at clearing out headlights. It couldnt be much harder, someone just needs to trial and error it out. Beautiful car by the way, very tastefully done!

Also: if you go for euro headlights be aware that the beams are aligned for driving on the wrong side of the road....

Was wondering, does the UK rule of the road apply to pedestrian traffic situations too? E.g., if I'm walking on a UK sidewalk and someone is walking towards me in my path, would it be common etiquette or practice for each of us to step left?

If you look at westerns, cowboys and native americans the horses/carts drive on the left.

You will also find that escalators in stores are set up reversed similarly. I never considered this question until visiting the UK and finding myself "on the wrong side of the road" just walking on city streets, in department stores, etc. I can't figure out exactly how to explain how the escalators are different. Well, in the U.S. if you are on an escalator that's passing alongside the escalator that's going in the opposite direction (up versus down) typically from your perspective you will be on the right and the "opposing traffic" on the left. In the U.K. you generally will have the "opposing traffic" escalator on the right.

 

Thanks. I too wondered what I should do while on foot when I was on a recent trip to Hong Kong. But for most of my walks there, it was so congested that I don't think it mattered what the pedestrian rules of the road were since, as a practical matter, such rules were hard to follow because of the congestion.

 

My passenger side HID headlight housing is yellowing and hazing over. I've tried the Meguiars treatment for plastic headlight lenses and was dissappointed in the results. It appears that the degradation is taking place mostly from the inside. Does anyone know of availability of HID headlight housings and approximate cost? thanks!

 

About $200 ea. for OEM units and $100 ea. for aftermarket units like TYC Elegante. There are other manufacturers that sell customized units with projectors instead of the oem reflector style.

You can try to find used headlights but these often have scratches and are missing one or two mounting tabs.

 

the hazing is the clearcoat on top of the housing breaking down due to neglect....if you wax your headlights and park out of the sun, this would be avoided but most don't do that

you can sand them down and fix them but if you dont re-clear them and wax them, they will end up the same shortly after
