Southern IL Prius Owners ( Or soon to be Owners) Unite!

    Hi All,

    I guess volunteering is all that is necessary. I would love to have a get together somewhere in the Southern IL Region so that we can:

    1) Show each other our Vehicles.
    2) Raise Consumer Awareness of the Prius(not Really needed but why not)
    3) Raise Press awareness of the importance of good resource stewardship.

    If there are any more Prius Drivers in the area please drop a note here. Maybe we could meet in July sometime.

    I traveled from St. Louis to Effingham and didn't see a single Prius along the way. I did see a Classic before I left town. Are there any Prius Owners out there? You know who you are. I know that a lotta folks are getting Prii from our local dealer but many are from out of state (Hey FarNorth!) If you are from anywhere in South Central IL ( Below I-80) give a shout!

    I live inbetween Joliet and Kankakee... I don't know if you'd consider that below I-80, but I guess it is, nearly. I wouldn't call that south central though...

    I'd like to go to a meet if one gets organized though. Not that anyone will need me for an example of Driftwood Pearl.

    Hi Woemcats,

    the I-80 thing is a joke for those of us southern IL residents who lived in Chicago. I lived there 5 years and the folks up north thought IL ended at I-80. I am thinking a gathering may be possible at Champaign,IL. That is a large enough community and is on good interstates. That makes 2 :) Driftwoods so far.

    Hoping to order a prius in the next couple of months. I see a lot of prii around the Collinsville area, especially on my commute to St. Louis. Glad to hear you are trying to raise the consciousness of Truck land.

    I'm about to take the plunge with a deposit on a magnetic grey pkg 1. We're buying from a dealer in Mattoon, the only dealer willing to sell at "invoice". We're from the Jacksonville-Springfield area.

    Nice! you went with KC Summers? They are a nice dealership. They just built a new showroom that is extremely eco-friendly. They are also holding auditions there for "The Great Race." lol

    I live just north of Peoria which is of course below I-80. Hope some sort of meeting can take place in the future. That would be cool.

    I live near Mattoon/Charleston and would love to meet up with you guys and maybe get a lesson on how to maximize my cars potential.

    There is only 1 prius in Arthur, the town I live in and I own it. I have seen 2 others in Charleston.

    Summers is a great dealer, however I actually bought mine from Dan Hecht in Effingham.

    Have I missed the get together? My Prii should be in this week or next! I'm in Springfield & my husband & I do a lot of car shows with his PT Cruiser & Pontiac Solstice. Just got back from Ohio for a PT Cruiser 3 day show. We have a good time at the shows. Would love to meet some fellow Prii owners & get the low down ha-ha!! Let me know.

    Well score one from the St. Louis metro area. I live in Bethalto, IL (near Alton and I-70) and have had my Prius for 18 months. I'm open to a meeting if you don't mind seeing one with a few dings in it (garage stuff). I'm only available on weekends, tho.

    Ok Im new to Southern Illinois so I have not heard of any of the cities listed by the other posters! My wife and I are in Carbondale, IL and Paducah, KY. I go to school at SIU School of Law and there are at least 4 other Prii in the lot with mine. Would love to meet up and get any tips! I am going to pass 15,000 miles on my less than six month old Prius next week and probably would benefit from proper driving demo!

    Hello all! If anyone is interested in a meeting, pm me.
    If you don't have it, an engine block heater and Scangauge are necessary tools to maximize fuel economy. If we have a get together, I would install blockheaters (for free labor) if you have one. I can also program the Prius X-gauge info.

    I live near Bloomington and seem to be in the vast wasteland! I have a 2005 Prius with over 100,000 miles which has saved me a ton of money! I also have a 2007 salvage PHEV black prius package 8 coming in about 3 weeks. I can hardly wait. I am adding the Plug in Supply battery pack which will give me 15 miles up to 52 mph on the electric motor only! Very cool since I live 13 miles from work and can plug in there! Hey, does anyone know how to post pictures on replies? I am not having any luck. Nice to meet you.
