High pitch interference sound after installing Amp, new deck?

Hi there, Im sure these questions have been gone over many million times, but..inquiring mind wants to know:

I just installed an Alpine 50x4 amp to my non-nav, non-jbl factory head unit (2005 Prius). after installing, I found that there is an annoying high pitch interference sound that comes thur the speakers (even when the audio is off). This noise is almost quite when the car stops, but gets a little bit louder when I hit the gas. The noise gets quiter when I turn the "gain" down, and vice versa. Is it the RCA converters picking up electrical interference? Does any of you out there have experience or can recommand a product to cancel this noise? or did the installer do something wrong?

Then, in an effort to cancel this noise, we tried chaning out the factory head unit. We tried putting in an Apline head-unit. The high pitch sound was gone, and it sounded great. But it also disconnected the climate control! So we had to put the factory head-unit back in. Any solutions?

Thanks alot in advance for any of your good advice and stories to share.

Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it?

    Search for "68 ohm resistor".

I might have tried the speaker-level inputs into the amp if it had them, in an effort to eliminate the noise.

Thanks, I tried searching and got a bunch of references but nothing that explained what it does exactly. Sounds like it is done when switching the factory head unit out. I think the search function drops out anything under 3 characters too so the 68 and ohm aren't searched for.

I just installed an amp and speakers using line out out adaptors from the factory amp. I'm now getting a high pitched whine through the speakers regardless of volume. It goes away upon acceleration (ICE kicking in) but is present almost all the time. It is a constant frequency so I don't think is is a grounding problem but maybe its feedback induced from the electrical system.

Head unit is factory and I have navigation. A USA spec ipod adapter was also installed.

    Thanks.

Thanks again. I should have been more clear. I was trying to solve the high frequency problem, not the non working climate control problem.

Seems there is some interference from putting the line adapters under the passengers seat. I moved them and the sound went away.
